3rd Edition Contents?

I just bought a 3rd edition of Blood Bowl off eBay. The game was advertized as: "1994 EDITION MISSING RULEBOOK OTHERWISE COMPLETE."
The game got here today...poorly packed...and when I opened up the box and went through the inventory there were obviously pieces missing. Games Workshop also seems like it wasn't explicit enough in its list on the back of the box for me to figure out what exactly what might be missing. If someone with a truly complete 3rd Ed. box set could let me know what is missing from the following list (or extra) I'd appreciate it:
Playing Field
12 Orcs (6 Linemen, 2 "Black Orcs," 2 Blitzers, 2 Throwers)
12 Humans (6 Linemen, 2 Catchers, 1?! Blitzer, 3?! Throwers)
23 Round Plastic stands for the players
1 Square Stand?! for the 24th player
2 Spiked Footballs
2 Footballs on the tee
MISSING: Handbook, Painting Guide, and How to Play Guide
Team Roster Pad
2 Quick Reference Cards
2 Team Cards
MISSING 4 Star Player Cards
2 Dougouts
Clear Plastic Scatter Template
Clear Plastic Throw in Template
MISSING Clear Plastic Range Ruler
2 Small D6's
Extra: 5 Standard Sized D6's?
D8
3 Blocking D6's
Extra: D20?
The game also says I should have 37 colour Counters...I couldn't figure out how they got that, but here are all the color markers I have:
16 Red and Yellow Squares with numbers 1 through 16 on them
8 Blue Squares with an Eagle Head on one side and "Re-Roll" on the other
1 Blue Square with an Eagle Head on one side and "Leader Re-Roll" on the other
1 Blue Square with a Football on one side and "Score" on the other
1 Blue Square with a Skull and the words "Turn" on it
8 Red Squares with an Orc on the one side and "Re-Roll" on the other
1 Red Square with an Orc on one side and "Leader Re-Roll" on the other
1 Red Square with a Football on one side and "Score" on the other
1 Red Square with a Skull and the words "Turn" on it
A Circular piece with an Eagle Head on one side and an Orc on the other
A Circular piece that looks like it has orange and yellow flames on it
2 almost circular pieces with Frogs on them and a pink backgound
6 Plastic Stands that I don't know what are for but have slots protruding out of them
Decals for the Gouged Eye and Reikland Reavers teams
Are there supposed to be 3 Throwers and only 1 Blitzer on the human team?
I'm missing the Handbook, Painting Guide, and How to Play Guide. Are any of these important if I have the LRB? What is the difference between the Handbook and the How to Play Guide?
What are the Star Player Cards?
How essential is the Range Ruler?
Do I have all of the colour Counters I'm supposed to?
What are the 6 extra stands with the slots protruding out of them for?
Thanks for the help!

My point being that I'm not sure what is missing besides the ruler so I can complain to the guy and see if we can get things sorted out. I also need to know what is missing that I actually need to play before I can target things on eBay. I posted this in the Newbie forum because I've never played the game so I don't know anything. I'm just trying to get a copy of the game together so I can play it.

Oops...sorry...For some reason I missed that you had added your own bold text to the quoted text.
Sorry, about that. Thanks a lot for the response!

NP - good luck resolving this ... Youre best seeing the contents of everything on e-bay , I have been let down a lot before with just a picture of a box and the contents when recieved being crap!

What are the 6 extra stands with the slots protruding out of them for?
They are from deathzone and are used to stand the 4 trophys and the 2 frogs (toads)

I've usually done pretty well on eBay, but I usually ask questions before buying. This one I took them at their word. The guy was apologetic (selling for a friend he says) and is going to ask about the Range Ruler (which is the main necessity). Hopefully it works out. Part of the problem with buying eBay stuff is that I'm in the US and it costs a lot to pay shipping from the UK...plus I'd have to deal with the currency conversion. It's just easier to limit my search to the US even though it limits what is available.
Thanks for the info, slup!

If you're shopping for missing bits, I'd consider the Throw-In and Scatter templates as "can do without" I've never used them. When you're about to roll the die, just point and say "that's on 1" and go around clockwise from there.

otherwise, you can play without any of the templates, just print a scanned copy

for these, you can even draw them, as it is just for reference. The pass template needs to be a little more accurate still, but you can make one easily with a piece of paper
the most annoying thing is about the three throwers, because you cannot use 3 throwers on the same team, whereas you will need the blitzers
even the 1 to 16 counters are not usefull if you have a d20 on your own
I think I lost them about three days after I bought the game

The player doesn't bother me too much because I'm not planning on painting or using the figures much. I bought a copy of Milton Bradley's Battle Ball and the players are pretty much the same size, so I'll just use them.
I don't have a range ruler at all and in order for me to make one, I need one of the appropriate size to base it off of. Unless there is some way I can get something online that is guaranteed to print out the correct size on my printer.

ok
best description I can give you is:
41 cm long x 5 cm wide, divided in 6 areas along the length:
- 1st, 2.5 cm long, with a 1 cm circle in the midle, which goes over the passing player.
- 2nd, 3rd and 4th are 10 cm long each, representing Quick pass, Short pass and long pass.
- 5th, 8 cm long, Long bomb range.
- 6th, 0.5 cm long, is a bleed at the end.
...... Get cutting

Cool, that helps a lot for making it. Now if I could just see a picture I'd be sure to get it right. What is a "bleed" at the end?

Just a few more questions on the specs:
1) Does the width of the ruler matter at all? If so, is the 5cm the width of the clear area or the whole ruler?
2) Not that it matters much, but is the circle in the 1cm circle in the middle a 1cm diameter or a 1cm radius?
3) I think this was already answered, but just to beat a dead horse: The last 0.5cm on the 41cm ruler have no use whatsoever so I don't need to worry about it then?
Thanks!
EDIT:
Oh, one more thing: Could I just use a regular ruler? If I measure from the center of the square where the thrower is would the following work?
11.25cm = Quick Pass
21.25cm = Short Pass
31.25cm = Long Pass
39.25cm = Long Bomb
(This also assumes that the width is of no consequence.)
Thanks again!
