Rules Question Regarding Throwing

I spent all day Saturday playing BB and trying to teach other noobs how to play. This game rocks!

I do have one question, however:

Can you throw a ball beyond the maximum distance of the passing template? Is everything past the end considered a "long bomb"?

Thanks!

The long bomb on the passing template is the furthest you can throw the ball. You cannot pass further then the passing template. Unless you give your player the "Hail Mary" skill.
And welcome to tbb!

Tuerns Right. Hail Mary Rocks though at times if placed right and especially with diving...No interceptions either...I love it!

Just to be clear.

The limit to normal passing is the long bomb range on the template.

How-ever:

Hail Mary pass skill allows you to target any square on the pitch (ignore the range ruler).

So a player with Hail mary pass (using his skill) may throw as far as he wishes, but his pass will automatically be inaccurate per the rules for that skill.

AND .. if the long bomb is inaccurate, it may scatter out of the range-rulers range ..

that can and is allowed to happen ..

Combine that with the ball scattering off field, followed by a crowd throw-in, and the ball might end up even further down the field (or almost next to its origin square).

Maybe you better ignore this comment, it might confuse more than it does any good. ;)
