Hmm... not really for a new team... I mean, if you have had them for say, two years, yeah maybe, but now?

New teams should stick to blue, but never Royal Blue, they can have Navy Blue. Oh, and matt varnish only, glossy varnish you can get after three months.

I think painting armour and other large parts of mini's black could look quit nice but I find it very hard to create depth when the mini is painted in a dark collor for a large part, I started painting d-elves team two different greens (one like orc skintone the other colose to black), red and skintones, and could not get the shadows right, either they where hard to notice or did not show at al. It took me quite some time just to paint 5 mini's at a nice level (they look ok aslong as they are on a pitch, they look nice if you look at them separetly). I think you should make the armour chainmail or a collor like that so you can create depth whit inkt.

I like your team name, it's got a ring to it.

The name and colours are fine. Don't listen to these guys, they're horrible.

My new teams....

Post by fritobandito »

I'm still working on painting my teams (ugh) I've got plastic orks, plastic humans, and the metal undead team box...

Orks (yellow, blue) are the Organ Grinderz

The humans (no colors yet) are the Lexington Ligers (in honor of Napoleon Dynamite)

The undead will be the Hateful Dead, with wights Scary Garcia and Bob Wierd. I'm thinking either mostly black for them, but shoulderpads red/blue, and working the grateful dead skull-lightning bolt symbol as team logo.

The undead team is a christmas gift for my brother, so I need to have them painted by year's end, which at my current rate may be a stretch! at least I'll be able to play a game on the holidays though!
