What's this I hear about online play?

Hey, im new to bloodbowl and looking at getting my first team, and i heard someone on talkbloodbowl.com say they "play mostly online"
What is this about? is there software to play bloodbowl online? if you can someone link me or did i misunderstand this?

Be aware it is highly addictive, could seriously damage your social life!

Seems worth the price.

I looked at the website and it said you need to own your own set of bloodbowl board game. why? what do you need it for?

Because the rules are copyright GW, and so are not reproduced anywhere in the software. So in order to learn how to play the game, and check the rules where there is a dispute, you need the rulebook.

I checked out the website, now im waiting for my orc team to get approved. Any tips? should i get at least 7 FF or something?
