As a newbie I'm wandering how people think about having a Big Guy into your team. I can imagine to put one in to anker your Line or to frighten the other team (a bit) 8)

Big guys are fun. Some are better that others, but Having an Ogre stampeeding down the pitch is always magical. :D

I like the unpredictability of big guys, they can be a wonderful weapon or horrendous burden. I have a orc team that people constantly ask me why I keep the troll benched. At the end of the day I have 5 other ST4 guys all with block that will not fail a really stupid roll at a vital time. The troll is great for defense as a way of attracting a few players to but other than that he is useless. In 17 games the troll has 2 MVP's to his name but no CAS whatsoever, he must be the most useless troll ever. In short, they can be great but never rely on them.

By the way, the only reason I keep the troll is he comes in handy to sling a Goblin in those desperate scenarios.

the answer depends on what team and what big guy you're talking about. sometimes they're great...other times they're more trouble than they're worth.

By the way, I'd never use a Treeman with Wood Elves, just to support the above statement.

I think a treeman to stand centre to line of scrumage is a very strong option. Even if he ends up just sitting there all game he makes it tough for opponents to fell and provides a very effective muscle option for the team. I like big guys, I think they have their uses and weaknesses and it just adds to the joys!! Its especially fun when a gobbo or fling has a wild shot at an ogre and he gets a BH!!

Rooted treeman plugging the hole in the opponent's defence anyone?

But on the whole, big guys are fun.

Big guys should be revamped. The main redux should be dropping the neg traits and repricing them to reflect their potential.

Can't vote, as it's not a question that can be answered with a simple yes or no.

I think BG's are good the way they are ATM ..

I don't mind the negatraits and it's a very good thing they are not available for every team.

still, in tournaments I may or may not take one even if I can, it'll depend on my game strategy

I like big guys, it really takes a lot of skill (and self control) to use them right. For example a rat ogre adds so many options to a skaven team but at the same time is horribly unreliable so the key is knowing when to take action with it.

I love my mino for my Chaos Dwarves. Block, Pile On, Mighty Blow, Razor Chap Claws, Horns. He's an evil bastard

I like them. I dnt alwsy use him, but having just any big guy makes your opponent think twice about his plan.

I just choose big guys because I like painting them.
