2nd and 3rd edition figure mix

I am planning on joining a league in a couple of weeks. I have a set of 3rd edition humans and orcs. Realizing I can purchase up to four blitzers, can I use figures from the 2nd edition humans and orcs to round out my teams? The 2nd edition figures I am looking at purchasing all have the same pose and apparently are told apart by the color of the base. Or should I just try to buy another set of 3rd edition humans and orcs? Any thoughts?

I guess a clarification is in order. I believe the sets of figures I am looking to buy to supplement my current boxed set of figures are the ones in the previously released boxed set. I understood those to be of the second edition variety; all the same color and apparently the same pose. Hope this wasn't too confusing.

Thanks for any help.

You can use whatever figs you want as long as its clear which figs represent which player. Things like saying "this snotling fig represents my troll" is confusing, everything else is fine. SO you can mix figures from different editions, no problem.

in my opinion your team will look unique by the moment you add figures with differrent pose.
About human you can choose from 2 different editions of plastic figures and four diff. ed. of metal figures. With all of this you can easily find 4 different blockers or blitzers or whatever.
My human team 3rd edition is made by 16 players all from the 3rd edition but both metal and plastic to get a every different figure team, you can see it at www.blodbowl.org.
Hope to be clear and helping.
Bye

The best way to settle any disputes is to have each player clearly marked with a number that corresponds to a number on your roster. (Best method is white paint on the black base, or black on the light gray bases.) Before the game you and the other coach give each other a copy of your roster.

Using this method you could glue a peanut shell to a base and draw a 6 on it and there still would be no confusion. Position becomes irrelevant; if a coach wants to know what skills a player has or what positions are near his ball carrier, he has only to look at the roster you gave him.

The thought of whoever you're playing with going "ow, that really hurt, why are you hitting me please please stop hitting me" is thanks enough.
