I was looking through the team listings and came accros the wolferner in the norse team. What are they? Also what size base do they go on, are they ogre sized?

Ulfwerner are Norse Werewolves. A description of them is in the full Blood Bowl Handbook.

You need the Handbook ... not the LRB 5.0.

Are they big guys or just standard base sized mini's?

What is the "Handbook"? Are you talking about the rulebook that comes with the boxed set or something else?

All players play the same no matter the base size. You could put Snotlings on a 40mm base if you wanted and it wouldn't make a difference to the game - except for fitting that many players adjacent to each other obviously.

Handbook = download that has all the rules AND all the fluff.
