Greetings....and Field Goal?

Hey all, recently got into Blood Bowl after putting it off for years as I didn't know anyone in my area who played. I must say I find these forums a great read and am finding the whole BB experience very enjoyable
Also I noticed here that there used to be a field goal rule and was wondering if there was any chance of it being reintroduced. I must point out I'm usually not that good at this sort of thing but thought I would try my hand at creating my own field goal rule/skill and would appreciate any feedback.
Field Goal (General):
A player with this skill may attempt a field goal which is defined as the 5 middle squares within an opponents end zone providing this player is holding the ball and is clear of all other tackle zones. Make an unmodified agility roll to determine if the ball is struck. If this roll fails the ball is fumbled.
If the agility roll is successful place the throw-in template with the 3-4 section being the desired direction of the field goal and roll a D6. If accurate roll a D3 and add the player's agility to see how far the ball is kicked. If the ball passes through any of the 5 middle squares in the opponent's end zone the field goal was successful and 1 point is awarded to the attacking team and the drive is complete. If the kick is inaccurate roll a D3 and add the players agility, halving the result (rounded down) to determine how far the ball is kicked.
Follow the normal rules for catching the ball, bouncing balls, throw ins and turnovers to resolve where the ball comes to rest.
The reason I have the field goal worth the same as a TD is frankly for all the effort of making a field goal it's probably worth just as much and would love to see it in use for trying to win/draw a game in the dying stages of a match. I also considered just making it an extension of players with the kick skill but cannot choose to halve the distance the ball travels in the case of a field goal. Otherwise perhaps change the size of the goal from 5 squares to 3. I'm not sure if this is anymore simplified then the rule I referenced at top of my post, any thoughts?
