Hi all, just making an obligatory first post in the newbies forum.

Haven't played much blood bowl (a couple of games), but have been collecting and gaming GW stuff for about 10 years now.

Not so long ago my friends and I got the blood bowl bug and so are starting a LRB5 League, 4 coaches, 1 team each. One of us, the commissioner, has played before, the rest of us are newbies. The only house rule we are planning to use at the moment is the randomizing of skills (pick a category, roll dice to get skill).

Anywho, was just wondering if anyone had any advice or pointers for a first time Lizards player. So far my team is:

5 Saurus, 7 Skinks and 3 RR

but I've also considered:

5 Saurus, 6 Skinks and 4 RR
6 Saurus, 5 Skinks and 3 RR with 40 in the bank.

Still time to change the team about before the league starts, I'm open to comments.

See ya.

welcome... randomized dice rolling for skills eh? Good idea for Chaos not so much for some teams like Dwarves/Amazon/Elves

or are you planning to give all teams access to all skills?

:)

I'd be inclined to start with 6 Saurus. The reason being is that they tend to skill up quite slowly usually relying on Casualties.

With decent winnings you should be able to pick up another Skink or two after your first couple of matches.

On Skinks, remember to keep them out of harms way if possible. Any opposing coach worth his salt will target them in order to remove them from the game so that you are left with no ball handlers.

krox 6 saurus 4 skinks 2 rr's

a 3rd rr is cheaper than a krox and it'll be easy to keep your skinks outa harms way but you have to be wise with your rr's
