Hi guys,

I'm the newest of noobs, never having played bloodbowl and all, but I'm very anxious to get started, and I've had a Lizardmen team lying around for two years now so... Now there is a bloodbowl league at my local gaming club, and I've decided to enter. For the most part I'm up against a heap of fellow noobies, but there are also a lot of experienced players as well. Friday, I'm up against a good buddy of mine, and he has only one match under his belt, while I have none. He has a halfling team, with one walking tree and a lot of midgets.
I myself have a team of 8 skinks, 4 sauri and a krox.

So, do you guys have any hints and tips vor a beginning player? Do's and dont's? Anything? (in case you're wondering, yes, this is a cry for help)

Welcome to TBB and the wonderful world of Blood Bowl! For specific tips on tactics on and gameplay for Lizardmen try browsing the the Tactics and Team Development forum.

The main tip for playing Blood Bowl is to do your low risk actions first - move actions with no dice rolls (e.g. standing people up, field position movement), 2 or 3 dice blocks where you have block. I.e. the actions least likely to turn you over.

There are so many options in a game that if you stick with that principle you shouldn't go far wrong.

Get away from the tree as soon as possible (don't follow up if you manage to block it).

Attack the halflings every turn, but as you haven't got block, taking them down is a 1 in 6 chance for a single die block (don't/can't do the maths for a double dice block).

Protect the ball-carrier.

Kill the halflings.

Don't foul unless you have superior numbers later in the game.

Kill the halflings.
