Testing Teams

Hello everyone,

I used to play some Blood Bowl during University about 10 years ago, and recently returned to the game through the PC game. I want to play in real life with friends again, and I am planning on buying a team as a self-made Christmas gift! Unfortunately, money is scarce so I would like to test a couple of teams that are appealing me before investing in one, in case I end up disliking the team I pick.

I have intensively played the PC teams - mostly Wood Elves and Chaos - and would like to give a try to Undeads, Norse and Chaos Dwarves for now. Anyone knows a good way to make decent token miniatures for testing? I'm pretty happy my parents didn't throw away my Blood Bowl core box with the field, the rulers and the scatters :)

Mixing the Orc and Human plastics assuming you still have them.

Black Orcs = Ice Troll or Mummies or Minotaur
Orc Blitzer = Ulfwerener
Orc Lineman = Chaos Dwarf or Zombie
Human Catcher = Norse Runner or Undead Ghoul
Human Lineman = Norse Lineman, Skeleton, or Hobgoblin
Human Blitzer = Norse Berserker or Undead Wight
Human Thrower = Norse Thrower
Horse from Cowboy and Indians playset or a Matchbox Car = Bull Centaur

There you go ... no money spent ... all 3 teams.

I actually found a good use for all the Lego miniatures I was playing with during my youth. These are a tad small, but are easier to prone/stun than the official miniatures, since they are quite flat. Currently using Pirates as Norse, pretty stylish!

Thanks for the advise everyone ^^

I created the paper pieces featured on the 3DB podcast. They are on the podcast website, but I also created a blog site to make them available directly. They can be downloaded at www.paperplayers.wordpress.com
