Invisible in forums?

I have noticed that every once in a while that when logged in and browsing a forum category, i am not listed as actually browsing, then a few minutes later i will be in another forum.
The who's logged on details' are taken over a 5 minute period so its possible that when you check, you are still within the 5 minutes.
