In this situation I pushed an opposing ball carrier into the crowd. The ball gets thrown in by the crowd and lands on one of my players who attempts to catch and fails.
Does that count as a turnover for me?

No it doesn't, failed catches at throw in's or bouncing balls do not constitue a turnover
