Hi folks, probably a stupid question with a simple answer but I've looked at my control panel and tried adding a signature to my posts but can't find how to do it. Can anyone help me out?

Iirc you have to be a member for 7 days (or something like that) - it's an anti-spam thing.
[Edit] Well, it ain't that obviously!

Right, it's because you're a "new user" - once you post x number of times (and I haven't worked out what x) is, you automatically move to "registered users" and will be able to add a signature.
Yes, it's an anti-spam feature.

Until he goes and posts spam on X number of threads to unlock his signature.
Of course...I guess it could be argued that I've posted garbage at least a 1000 times.

I'm new here and was about to post same question, Don't this idea just encourage spam posts just so we can get a sig? And how can some one spam a sig isn't it just by posting so what difference does it make if you have a sig or not, seems bit silly really.

Don't ask me - I didn't design it!

I ran into this issue as well. It's unfortunate that I could not find anything about it in the FAQ...

Guys, it's a 'sig'. Hang around long enough and you get one. What's the rush...?

No rush, but it's annoying when you look for a feauture you see in use, and cannot find it.

This would be a super helpful thing to add to the FAQ--I've been trying to find the answer via searches but didn't think to look in the Noob forum til now.
(And that's another spam post! Inching closer to a sig....)

Hey there,
Yeah I have to agree. The FAQ should inform people about the need for a base number of posts before the signature option is opened to their User Control Panel. It has been quite frustrating to look and look for something that says it's there… when really it isn't. I'm not the most tech-friendly sort, but even I knew that something was wrong… I just hadn't realized what… and of course stubbornly refused to ask anyone for help.
And no… I don't ask for directions at gas stations, either.
Anyway, many thanks to Iranian Spy for asking that which I did not… or perhaps could not.
Cheers,
- Dan
