ARBBL might be your closest big league (in Andover). Not sure what's going on in the Portsmouth/Southampton area.
If you fancy a drive, you could come to Swindon
Try the league locator on thenaf.net.
And Fumbbl and Cyanide!

Hi Thor, where abouts in Hampshire? There are a few of us based in Southampton that occasionally run a small league, and just over the border into Dorset are Exiles who I believe have a long running league. Anyway I shall be at Thrud myself, feel free to say Hi! I'll be the long haired guy with the orange goblins
There is also the Albion Coast Cup held in Southampton on August Bank Holiday weekend.

Exiles League is on long term holiday due to lack of players (too many people moved away or had children and dont play games anymore). I actually play league games in ARBBL now
There are many
tournamentsin the area, so many we have a
championship!

Welcome!
If you fancy a trip to a tournament before Thrud - Gert Bowl is on in Bristol in a couple of weeks (25th/26thJuly). Most us don't bite and those that do we try to keep at the back away from the normal people.
Jokes aside if you fancy a trip to Bristol this is the Gert Bowl thread -
Gert Bowl Link or drop me a PM if you want to ask any questions.
Hopefully see you over a board sometime

Hi all,
i live in Portsmouth, but work at Laverstoke Park near Basingstoke.
Thrudd is going to be my first event, trying to get a dwarf team up and ready for it whilst painting a team for the charity auction too!
Any tips or advice for a newbie for dwarfs at an event?

Dont play Dwarfs?
Normally I'd say spam Guard, but Thrud rules only allow for 3 skilled players on a Dwarf team, so no real spamming.
How saucy are you feeling?
An option:
6 Blockers
2 Blitzers
2 Troll Slayers (one with Mighty Blow, one with Piling On)
1 Runner
Grim Ironjaw
2 Rerolls
Or;
6 Blockers
2 Blitzers (one with Guard and Mighty Blow, the other with Guard and Stand Firm)
2 Troll Slayers
1 Runner (with Block)
3 Rerolls and a bribe
(10k left over)

- ~Don't Dodge, just hit them some more
~You probably don't need as many rerolls as you think
~Take it slow (they're Dwarves they don't do fast anyway)
~Don't listen to the haters

Howdy,
As Sann mentioned above, the ARBBL club is in Andover, so could be a little diversion on your way home if you were interested. We've just started a long-term league with a couple of out-of-club visitors (Lunchmoney and Waddywoos). We are currently running one game round every 4 weeks, where 1 league game needs to be played, although a coach can play as many or as few non-scoring friendlies in that time, so you'd only need to commit to one week in four.
If you're interested, send me a PM and I can give you any more details you'd like; if not, hope to see you at a southern tournament before the years out.

Not planning on taking any secret weapons atm, still trying to get used to the game (played a lot on computer...)
Will see if I can make it over to Andover, its a hellova trek back though.
