Re: UKTC VIII | York | April 1-2 2023
The NAF upload and a final individual table with races included is coming soon
While we await that I wanted to announce the date for UKTC IX in 2024:
August 3&4 2024
Once again at York University
The reason for the change to summer is as follows:
York university has changed holiday schedule, so the winter and easter breaks are now not available.
There are only four weekends in August when events like this can be held. The other three weekends are booked in 2024. Basically no room for manoeuvre at all.
I did investigate an alternative venue in York city however it was corporate and therefore much more expensive. The ticket price would be much higher than anything we're used to in the community, over double UKTC's current cost. I felt that was too great a risk.
I know the change will impact on the calendar. My apologies if this affects your event. I have spoken to the Thrud Bowl guys at length to seek a solution as this is now a direct clash in 2024. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any other way.
A couple of other changes for 2024:
In order to ensure both rooms are suitably spaced and not too cramped, and also to give miniature traders appropriate space to operate, the capacity will be 344 (86 teams). That's a small reduction in maximum capacity from 2023. Although it's the same number we have operated with in practice over the last two years.
The ticket price will also increase by £5 to £55 per person (£220 per team) given some small but significant rises in costs for food, staff and room hire.
Hopeful none of the above changes will stand in the way of the success of the event.
Thanks everyone who has offered feedback. Always appreciated. We'll be responsive to your comments and hope to continually improve - whether that relates to rules, gifts, layout etc.

Fantastic! But I can't see it.
I want to see if Nikolai is right about the rules being broken for goblins...

Re: UKTC VIII | York | April 1-2 2023
There was some discussion about rules, tiers, allowed inducements etc
Any feedback on that welcome
There's a pdf on the draws and results page Pete. Still can't see it?

No, but I'm guessing it's a caching problem on my mobile. Even clearing browsing data isn't helping. Grrr.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.
Bribe level: good coffee.

One of the signs.... Have you also yelled at the pesky kids to get off your lawn?

I bet someone clever can do an expected race performance vs UKTC VIII race performance tableau, right?
