Standings after 9 out of 11 events

After yesterday's Suffolk Subterranean Showcase, lachlanbc and insidious drop out of the top 5 replaced by 2nd and 3rd place in Ipswich, Dimmygee and Stewbacca.

Mr Frodo's performance keeps his overall series casualty position looking good, and he also takes 2nd place in most TD overall.

With just 2 events to go, he has also closed the gap on series leader TotalFuzzyLogic with it looking like nothing will be decided for certain until the final event of the series in Bexley. All of the top 5 are playing at least 1 more event, so there could be a lot of change in the final two months of the year!

With the penultimate event of the series completed, and just Bexley to go next month there's not much chance for coaches to make their mark on the series.

In the main standings, MisspelledTree jumps into 3rd place after her second tournament win in 2 weeks at Portsmouth yesterday. Stewbacca gained a point and moved up to 4th meaning DimmyGee just slips out of the top 5.

In the touchdowns, SaltySeaWench solidified her lead, and in casualties, Mr_Frodo stays in first although Stewbacca gained slightly on him.

Insidious looks to have the stunty series wrapped up despite not gaining any points this weekend.

I will do an analysis of all those who have played enough events (or will have done after Bexley) in the below channel on the BBSE server for anyone interested.

We are awaiting to hear from a venue regarding a Champion of Champions series. Once that is resolved, we will work out the invites for the series. It is likely that it will be something like the Top x in the standings plus the stunty champion will qualify.

Here are the final standings of the 2024 South East Tournament Series!

This is everyone who competed in the required number of events to register a score - a total of 20 coaches. I hope/expect it to be more next year with more events and only 3 needed to qualify for a final score.

There were 251 coaches who competed in at least one series event.

TotalFuzzyLogic retains the lead that he has had for a long time, but only qualified for a final score on the final event of the series. He got 4 points from Bexley (2 for each of the stunty cup and most casualties). He is therefore the first ever winner of the South East Tournament Series!

Second place goes to Mr_Frodo who had been chasing him relentlessly but never quite managed to close the gap and ended up finishing 10 points behind.

Third place - just pipping out MisspelledTree on the 2nd tiebreaker of most touchdowns and casualties score (as they were tied on both points and the number of events attended) is DimmyGee.

The stunty cup is awarded to Insidious who was the only coach to record 5 or more stunty scores. His closest rival was his BriBBE league mate phuqster who attended 4 events, but Sid had a commanding 14 point advantage over him, so is a worthy winner despite no one else qualifying.

All of these 4 winners will be awarded with a NAF provided winners pins!

In the other categories, minimorg was a clear winner in the Yoof category with an impressive 32 points, which meant he finished in 8th place overall.

Despite narrowly missing out on the most TD award in Bexley, Stewbacca gets the award for Most Tournament Series TD by just 1 touchdown after closest rival, SaltySeaWench was unable to attend due to illness. She did manage her score in an impressive 3 fewer events, so can very much claim a moral victory.

Finally Mr_Frodo wins most casualties by just one casualty, pipping out Stewbacca.

Each of these three winners will receive a small prize, which will be awarded at the same time as the pins. These will likely be awarded either at the Kent Team Championship in March 2025, or at the inter-series event we are planning to arrange with the SW, Midlands and London series.
