skijunki and private network

However you play online - Java, Vassal, Email, Cyanide etc - talk about it here.
This is also the place for discussing the various tools for managing leagues, teams and so on.

skijunki and private network

Post by silka »

Well, we have some pblm to play with skijunki throw a private network ( home ^^)

Configuration :

One Pc on windows xp pro named "first" who have the internet connection

another pc call (hum) "second" who have internet connection throw the first pc ( gateway)

Well, we can host a game with the "first" pc no pblm, we can play on internet on it (great ^^)

But, with the "second" we can t host a game.

we use the 7.3 of skijunkie.

So how configurate the "second" to can host a game ?
And how configurate the client to connect to second.

We don t use proxy, and firewall it s not a pblm :)

ps: and the "second" can host a game in the local network, and the "firs" come, there is no pblm.

Plz help. I think it s a little thing
because when we want to host with second the hostname is :

Second/192.168.3.1 ( ok i think we change the ip adress, by the internet adress of the "first" but don t work .

You've probably got the IP wrong... when you've selected Net Server just type in localhost

Then when the game starts it tells you the IP in the message window and use that in the client.

hum ok i understand, but the pblm with the "slave"
ski give this ip : silka/192.168.3.1

and this kind of adresse is unreacheable from the net.

But the "first" (with internet connection) ski give this : silka2/62.62.35.25
and this it s ok

And the pblm it s for the client :

in the host we can t type : silka2/62.62.35.25
the client accept only the adress ip

and if we write this : "ip"/62.62.35.25 the client refuse, ( wrong host)
the client (ski) doesn t accept the "/"

You need to set up your gateway computer to forward a certain port to the other computer.

So your main computer is

62.62.35.25 on port 8080.

You need to forward a different port, such as 9080.
Then to connect to a game on the 2nd computer you would use the same ip (62.62.35.25) but use port 9080 instead of 8080.

You'll have to look up the documentation of your gateway software to see how to enable port forwarding.
