Hi guys, I was recently made redundant, and whilst i've been job searching i've been trying my hand at app development and i've come up with a little android app that simulates all the dice rolls involved in a game of Blood Bowl and also gives you the text for the weather/kick off/injury rolls.

There's a free version, or if you want to support a struggling developer and Waterbowler you can buy an 'enhanced' version for £1.50

and inkpwn - if you press menu, and go into settings you can turn the sounds off - yeah the stock sound effects are a bit naff, but I wanted to play around with using multimedia

Lovely little app there

One thing though - I was having a play around (Galaxy S2, Android v2.3 I think) and it seems like if I do 7 or 8 rolls on the same screen in a row it crashes...

Hmmm I did hear that from another user, tried to recreate it, but it only happens if I repeatdly press the roll button quickly about 20-30 times.

did you have the sounds on when it crashed?

I was doing the same on a Galaxy S, Android 2.2 and wasn't being excessive about pressing the roll button but was continuously rolling dice via the app and I also found that about 7-8 or so rolls it Force Closes.

That aside.....nice app...and I find the sound of dice rattling somewhat reassuring so I guess that feature is a tad marmite amongst the user community.

After a bit of testing, it seems it wasn't stopping the sound properly.

Would be good if we could roll 2 die 6's for armour.

This is neat, played a game a couple of days ago and we couldn't find a d8, so thanks Ninja.

One idea though, it could be cool with a 1-16 roll to determine random MVP postgame.

New version just released - now with an armour roll tab, enter the target av and what skills you have and it'll tell you if you break through.

Good idea about the MVP roll - will try and add that in for the next version

Just had a quick play with the update, and it's combining modifiers it shouldn't (Mighty Blow and Dirty Player for example).

Also, the Injury Roll needs renaming as Casualty Roll, and a separate Injury Roll added, with modifiers.

I have this, and it's pretty neat.

If it's not too much effort, would it be possible to display dice pips rather than digits... for some reason I find those easier to read!

I downloaded the freebie for a go. Good stuff.

yeah, I could add the logic in to stop the illegal combination of skills, but the problem there is deciding which run through, although I suppose I could 'grey out' certain selections if certain ones are clicked - hmm, I'll investigate.

Renaming it Casualty roll is a good idea, that'll go in the next update - and I was going to add the injury roll in the next update too.

As long as you occasionally click on the adverts the free version is fine
