Getting to the Dungeonbowl...

Post by Wilf »

Hey folks,

I'm thinking of making the Dungeonbowl my first tournament abroad, subject to being able to get there.

I wondered if any of the English contingent are already going. I'm happy enough to drive if there's a few of us out there to help with costs etc.

Info on how long the drive is, where to stay, routes etc would be much appreciated from Dungeonbowl veterans.

Hopefully there are tickets left!

Wil

You have to get to the "Duesseldorf Hauptbahnhof". The Drakenburg is only 10 min away; in special cases, you can also walk over there!

At Airport Düsseldorf:
With S-Bahnen S6 or S7 to "Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof" till Düsseldorf "Wehrhahn". There you have to use the stairways on opposing drivingdirection of the S-Bahn and take any train which is heading left to the Innenstadt until the stop "Jacobistraße". You have now to walk lefthandside to the "Tonhallenstraße" and after nearly 250 metres there is the Drakenburg and the Games Workshop HQ.

I hope this will also help...

Cheers
Sascha

Check out http://www.flightmapping.com/UK/

Follow links to find Dusseldorf and see who's flying there from near you. I picked up a return from Manchester for under £70 including taxes. When you consider this (1 hr 40 mins) against the expense (ferry, petrol, etc) and time (several hours) of driving it soon appears pretty cheap. And that was with BA!

Most people go out Friday and return Monday. Anything else is usually asking for trouble (and you would miss the usual Friday night pi$$ up and Sunday night wind down/wind up).

Staying at Duesseldorf

Post by CoachRattenfetza »

Hey guys,

if you are looking for a hotel to stay, please check also districts like "Bilk" or "Oberbilk", and so on. Most of them; like "Bilk" are just 30 min away (by tram) and you also can walk back home from the Altstadt...

For example:
Hotel an der Uni
voice(02 11) 3 02 02 40
Moorenstr. 4
40225 Düsseldorf
