Who'd be interested in a two day tournament in Norwich?

After the success of our first one-day tournament last September I'm trying to persuade my club's committee and members that a NAF sanctioned, two-day event would be a good idea for this year.

Looking at the current calendar (and subject to venue availability) it'd be held on 18th and 19th September. I'm working on the rules pack but can say there'd be 6 games over the two days, starting with TV110 + 4 skills and getting two more skills for Day Two. I've thought of a couple of fun prizes to go with the more usual awards (e.g. Best Comeback to give teams who have a very disappointing first day something to aim for) and am also thinking of an Underdog Cup rather than a Stunty Cup (for goblins, halfling, ogres and vampires).

It'd be a huge help in making my argument if I could say that n people from TFF have already expressed an interest so the club wouldn't be facing a large loss (we've only run 1 day events so far, mostly WFB but have branched out into BB and 40K and hope to try a Warmachine event later this year).

So, on the assumption that these are the dates and that the tournament gets NAF sanctioning who fancies a weekend in Norwich in September?

Looking quite congested at that time of year. I'd love a trip to Norwich but I want to make White Isle and GeordieBowl so 3 tournaments in 5 weeks would be too much of a stretch.

I'm interested, there arn't any tournaments in that neck of the woods so it sounds like a good idea.

I've got family in blakeney so I can probably make it, plus norwich is a nice place.

Unfortunately reaction within our "home" coaches has not been as enthusiastic as I'd hoped so it seems likely it'll be another one day event, dangnabbit.

Hopefully it'll be a proper NAF event at least.

Any news on which day it'll be? Will be in Hopton-on-sea around that time and would like to squeeze this in.

If the hall's available it'll be on Sunday 19th September (and 18th too if the vote goes my way, although that's looking unlikely)

That's certainly still the plan (as long as enough Ogre, Vampire, Goblin or Halfling teams enter). It'll be confirmed one way or the other when I finalise/publish the rules pack.

The proposed rules pack has been sent off for NAF sanctioning. It's going to be just the one day affair on the 19th September.

The Underdog Cup is part of the rules pack (subject to there being 3 or more Halfling, Goblin, Ogre or Vampire teams entered).

If approved I'll get the rulespack added to the tournament website and we'll start taking registrations in June (once our WFB tourney's out of the way).

Everything's authorised (thanks for that, rodders) and set up for 19th September and our website is set to accept registrations.

It's a one-day, three game TV110 resurrection tournament and as well as the overall champion, runner up and third place to be decided there'll also be:

Best Coach - based purely on results (the overall points includes points for your painting)
Most Violent Team - who can score the most casualties from blocks, blitzes, fouls, secret weapons and crowd pushes
Most Offensive Team - who can score the most touchdowns
Most Injured Team - whose team gets beaten up the most
The S.Ch.Wi.N.G. Award for causing the most injured by fouls, secret weapons and crowd pushes
Tournament MVP - which individual player earns the most SPP over the day
Best Comeback - which team recovers best from a first game mauling
plus, of course, the much anticipated Underdog Cup - for the highest placed goblin, halfling, ogre or vampire team (assuming there are 3+ eligible teams entered)

The tourney will be organised using the Swiss method ("fiddled" in the first game to avoid you playing someone from your own club if that's possible - why travel to a tourney to play someone you see every week?) and team will accumulate fan factor (+2 for a win, +1 for a draw) so that if the draw means a winner is to play someone who only drew then the winner will have a small advantage.
