One Day Events

I am interested to hear what other peoples experiences are of one day events. So far I've only attended the conventional six-game two-day events and I'm not sure how well three or four game event work for Blood Bowl. I am particularly interested to know if fitting four games in to a day works and any top tips from league commisioners who have run something similar.

Well i think you can get 4 games into a day without too much problem, a lot depends on the venue and the hours that you can open/close, i would say you need to give people at least 20-30 mins between games to stop it becoming a slog, plus an hour for lunch. With a one dayer your more likely to have smaller numbers than a 2 day event, but having said that you would probably find there are those that could attend for a day that cant make the usual 2 day tourneys.

Most one dayers tend to be 3 games. This makes it easier for people to travel in the same day. e.g. Gryphonbowl.

However, the stunty slam, and the Ironmanj one dayer both fit four in. It is a bit of a squeeze, especially if people are travelling any distance. If it's a local tournament though, I'm sure it won't be a problem. Another option would be to have the 4th in the evening after a meal.

I held a 4 game one dayer it is very do-able but knackering

the carrot crunch and the poo bowl used to be 7 game tourneys with 4 on day one too but reverted to 6 due to popular demand

i have only ever been to a 4 game one day tourney never been to a 3 and probably wouldn't as 3 games really isnt enough

Thanks for all your feedback it was good to get peoples thoughts. I'm currently trying to see if we could get a one day event run at Spiky. I think a four-game day event may take some of the fun away by the end of the day especially if we have people travelling.
