I've been using the HorrorClix She-Wolf mini from the Freakshow Set.
It's plastic, which is a huge selling point for me, and is decently prepainted. Some washing and dry brushing and detail work can make it look as good as any other model hand-painted from scratch. The scale is great too. It's a bit bigger than your standard human, so looks like it fits the role of a Frenzy, Claw-Ripping beast, but not nearly so big that it makes standard Str4 players look like pushovers (I think plastic 40K Ork teams suffer from this sort of effect, where all of their Str3 players end up looking closer to ogre-sized and completely tower over most Str4 pieces, and it seems like a lot of werewolf models out there also seem to 'error' on the gigantic size).
The game has been out-of-print for years, but it's not too hard to find online stores with the pieces in stock, usually for no more than $2-3 (USD), which is a pretty unbeatable price when compared to any of the metal alternatives.
Additionally, I've used the Flesh Suit mini as Flesh Golems and the Snake Oil Salesman as a Lizardman Apothecary, and there are lots of other interesting figs in the set that could potentially transition over to a BB pitch nicely.
