This is the reason I'm exceedingly

at painting right now. I've had to do this for display purposes and oh boy by the end of it all the fun was sucked out of painting for me.
So I'm going to finish one last mini this week and then walk away from painting for a while.
Still, here it is.

Enjoy, it's probably the last from me for a while.
Edit: It's worth noting that this thing is mounted on a 2 inch base and stands approx 3 1/2 inches tall. It's a Carnivean from Hordes by privateer press.

Nice work. I love the effect this guys has. The teeth and the red gums are fantastic. I really think you pulled this one off.
I'm sorry to hear you are burned out and I will be looking foward to your return in the future. It would really be a shame someone of your talents giving up on painting.

A break is a good choice when you´re sucked. Frustration is not
helpfull if you try to reach the best result you can.
I mean this is a hobby and you spend your freetime into that.
I had this too in the past 15 years. I used this time to find out more
about painting with acrylic colours. Not only in the miniature section!
I walked around with open eyes for new colours and colourscemes.
Found a lot of inspiration by mother nature. And i made my self hungry
by looking at other peoples works.
After this breaks i always had a push forward, so at the end the time was
not wasted.

That is disgusting, but in a good way. Lovely work. Enjoy your break from painting. You'll be back sooner than later

I know exactly how you feel fen. Pushing on with painting when you're not in the mood never really works well.
I find painting white with highlights like you've done on the skin really wears me out painting wise.
