A break from Bloodbowl

I was getting very burned out from painting blood bowl so I decided to paint something for myself to try and get some enthusism back.
It's a 40k marine terminator in the ultramarine flavor. I'm very happy with the results and can't wait to field a squad of these guys on the table.
Alrighty... back to painting blood bowl.

Very nice work, as always! The only thing I could possibly say about it that wouldn't just be lavishing more rambling, babbling praise on it is that I'd have wanted to see the gun barrels drilled out. But even that's just a personal preference; a whole unit of these guys would be absolutely amazing on the battlefield.

Oh you had to say it didn't you. I considered drilling out the barrels and I usually do. What persuaded me not too this time was the size of the barrels. They are about 3/4 the size of a marines bolter barrel. It can be done but would be a pain so I figured for table toppers skipping this process would be ok. I'll give it a go on the next one when I get around to it.

Heh, sorry about that!
You know, it's entirely possible that if I saw the model in real life on a tabletop I never would've even noticed, given what you say about their size. But I've just been trained by years of reading miniatures forums and sites to look for it in pictures, and given that the pictures -- larger than RL, obviously -- allowed me to notice it where I might've missed it in RL, I just couldn't help myself.
The only real point, though, is simply that it's a great freakin' paint job. I've saved a copy, as I've done with most of your work you've posted, to use as reference/inspiration once I finally do pick up my own brush again in the next few days.

lovely stuff! you've got a really nice bright clean style that makes for gorgeous space marine paint jobs! beautiful work!
For what its worth, I don't drill out barrels myself. Keep getting scoffs from my gaming buddies too...
