Need a tip on halflings...

Post by Axtklinge »

I've been looking for non GW halflings for a possible BB team (after convertion).
Price is an issue, so plastic might be the way to go (and are probably easier to convert).

Anyone with a tip on this?
Thanks!
A.

Hassle free miniatures
Reaper miniatures
Black hat miniatures

They all do lines of cool flings with black hats being some of my favorites.

If you have some spare time check out this wiki:
http://stunties.com/wiki/index.php/Manufacturers
Its a archive of 'stunty' miniatures, dwarfs, halflings and more.

Thanks for the links!

I wonder "how big" are Black Hat's 28mm compared to GW miniatures...

Well, if you buy all your team from black hat scale won't really be a problem, but every fling coach needs this set:

You're right.
I do however have a couple of GW ones and was considering mixing them...

How about using plastic dungeonbowl dwarves? They're on the smallish side.... not sure how easy it would be to de-beard them though, and they're unipose too which you might dislike.

I've got a load of Black Hat halflings - they're comparable in size to the old GW fantasy halflings. The Elvis model rocks - and Napolean too...

Would you mind checking how many millimetres they measure from 'feet to eyes'?

Sorry for the delay - they seem to be 16/17mm from bottom of their feet to eye level. Napoleon is, understandably, shorter at a mere 14mm from sole to eyes. Super-small man syndrome...

By the way, love both the painting and the colour scheme on your halflings (the GW ones)!
Is there any place were we can see them?

They look great, congrats!
The detail on the bases is very good too.

I've been a couple of times in the "bunker" site but have missed them completely.
Thanks for the link!

A.
