How about an Undead troll?

Post by -tsk »

This is just a loose idea...

If an undead team should manage to kill a troll they would be allowed to try to resurrect it with not 1 but 2 raise dead's thus leaving them with no raise dead for the next match.

The rolls would be made so that the undead's would have to make 2 successfull raise dead rolls before getting an undead troll onto their roster.

And if they failed either they still wouldn't have a raise dead for the next match.

Furthermore, the troll would suffer a -1 to ALL stats.

Fair? Unfair? Totally unfair? Tell me what you think!

I just had to post this as I found a great looking miniature which would suite this role perfectly! :)

Gee wiz, my first topic!

I remember an old suggestion which I thought was pretty cool back then.

"you may regenerate every player you kill, but they get
-2 move, -1 AG the rest remains the same".
So, you could get a BO zombie, 2 4 1 9 or a zombie goblin 4 2 2 7
But, it's impossible to uphold due to bookkeeping problems. Every zombie would be different.
Killing a gutter runner would be extremely cool though  7 2 3 7. A zombie with AG.

Have to agree with the fact that the abiliy to raise undead players from ohter teams, totally unbalances the Undead Roster. In the WBBL i've raised a Dwarf Longbeard with this rule, so i have access to extra strength skills, and even a Draconian Spellcaster. the team has played 9 won 8 drawn 1.

Only two games have been close, with most of them being 2+ touchdowns better and plenty of casualties.

I love my mummies on my Undead team, and have often felt disapointment that I couldn't get the skills/abilities a player has when I raide them into my fold. Still, after playing against a couple Khermi teams with four mummies I have to say two are plenty for Undead.

I'm still new to the game, but the Undead already has some serious advantages with their Raise Dead even though they only get Zombies. Having had problems in the past with too few players, I have to say always having guys to put on the field is an incredible asset - even if they are only worthless Zombies. If you actually have to buy any they're cheap too. I bought 4 Zombies and 4 Skeletons when I started the team, and always put my (free) raised ones in harm's way. In fact, I have so many damn Zombies now (around 6 IIRC) I had to start saying: NO I don't want to raise them, so that I actually have a slot open if I want to buy a new Wight or Ghoul.

Good idea certainly, I've wished for it myself on occaison; but I don't think it would really be balanced/it is open to abuse. Of course I find the Khermi/Chaos Pact teams too hard on my poor DE and Skaven so I may just be a whiner.

All zombies would have general skills only, or skill access for their initial race

I wasn't intending to apply this rule to ALL the other players, just to trolls. And this will be a house rule at the best. Just have to convince the other coaches about getting to use it. What an uphill battle, haha!

But no matter what, I'm still getting that Undead Troll miniature! And if I don't get to put it on the field, I'll fix some boobs on it and make it a cheerleader! :D
