I'd like to note giving a "Stunty" Stunty, Short Arms, and Little Fellow but only taking away Stunty when a Secret Weapon is purchased is a rules change. And I don't advocate any of those. So if you want to do that in your rewrite, it's not kosher with me. :D

Anything I say is totally opinion and (knowing my luck) probably completely wrong. Keep this in mind.

others said it is.
thats why I made it anotherone of my stupid topics.

I was told, the SW only disables the dodging ability on stunty.

Dragonkin proves me right that splitting it is a clarification, and a needed one. RCs gan never be lost or gained, there must be some things without 37 exeptions aplying to it.

its not hard to say "if a stunty has a sw then he loses the ability to ignore tz when dodging, i would rather that then 3 different rc

Well it is actually way more simple to remember that all Goblins always are Little Fellows with Short Arms just like all Trolls are Really Stupid and can Regenerate.

You have not noticed that I list RC's seperately from Skills & Traits I suppose. Actually I really decided to quit.

You still havent even looked at the file I've been advertising but still you know its better the old way. I really quit. As soon as the secret weapon rules are here there will be another section to browse. Way better than listing everything you need to know about your team on one cool chart.

Consider yourself succesful. I'm out.

Look Toby, obviously the LRB needs a little bit of re-designing. But it REALLY isnt a big deal. I have managed to play the game perfectly well, with the rulebook in its current form. It has problems, but they are so MINOR, I cannot see why you go through so much grief, merely to re-arrange things.

For most rules, the exceptions are more important than the general rule. :smoking:

i read thru all your excel sheets toby, and i still don't see what all the fuss is about. it just looks like team lists to me, with extra classifications that don't apply to anything that goes on on the field. whether something is a monster or a blocker or whatever doesn't matter a hill of beans.

it is helpful that you have the apoth/wiz access listed for each team, but I know you're trying to do more than that. also again i am not interested in secret weapon rules, so that'a another section i don't care about. I really wish they'd just take all the weapons out of bb for good, it's just a bunch of crap rules that add a lot of confusion to the game and little else, unless you play goblins...but then goblins are a crap team that adds a lot of confusion to the game and little else, so I guess at least there's symmetry. :)

Wesleytj, http://www.midgardbb.com/MBBL/SecretWeapons.html
This are the "NEW Secret Weapon Rules". I don't know if I like them. I was told they will be 99% official in October. So if you don't like the rules themselves, that does not affect the way the Information about them is presented on the Team List.

Secret Weapons:
The Secret Weapons section gives Information about:
-What Types of Secret Weapons are availiable to what Team.
-What Players on what Team is allowed to used one of the availiable Secret Weapons.
It improves the Secret Weapon Rule.
-Each type of Secret Weapon can be assigned a different Cost and or Penalty roll for each team.

Race & Characteristic
"Race" acts as a variable for a set of "Racial Characteristics". This allows to include more information about accessable categories on the team list becaues space in a single line is limited.

Categories
This contains all information from the "Player" skill list, expanded to show Secret Weapon acces.

Position Limits
This has ben seperated from Player Data. It allows to list multiple players who use the same position slot. For example Star Players might use use the same Position and differ in title, while Big Guys differ in race.

Player Data
This section is able to contain all data for all Characters in the game. Any System of Starplayers, Rookies, or Big Guys.

Introduction & Team Race are self explanators.
Team Rerolls shows the cost for a Team Reroll.
Team Wizard shows the availiable Wizard Type and Cost.
Apothecary shows avaliability and cost.

Wesleytj,
I included MY Starplayer system, because it shows that these team lists would allow to implement NWE features. I am aware that most people lack the interest of doing that. If you look at the High Elf Team, you can see that if you decide to use that Team list you can count on getting 2 ST4 Dragon Warriors but very late in team developement. This adds long term interrest to a classic team rather than adding a couple of new elf teams.

As you can see, youst a Team List after all.

From what i've read of this the re-organisation seems like it would be useful as the backend for a computer game database of teams, with everything fitting together logically.

This is all very well but it looks a little complex for the tabletop game that blood bowl is, and no matter how you shorten the descriptions of players I am still going to want their stats and skills on my team roster for the game.

I do agree that the LRB could do with some tidying up but I think Sputnik has already summed up my feelings on this, reorganisation and an index is what we need (plus maybe a little clarification), not a major re-write of the rules mechanics.

Sorry to be a little critical but I really don't see that there is any need for the complexity.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

Munkey, really, ther is no complexity added. Really.

You can still see all of the artibutes on your team roster, by adding a

"allied races" section, that lists "race" and "characteristics".

For example on Chaos Dwarf Team, while the Player Data Line lists only "Troll", in the "Alied Races" you get your "Always Hungry, Mighty Blow, Throw Teammate" that would eat up all of the space for skills & traits.

again, i will email the file but you will have to look at it in a positive aproach, becaues if you stop reading because "Pass" has been renamed to "throw" this will keep you from getting the clue behind it.

(ps. throw is better because you can then better define a Throw Action and then split in "throw Ball" and "throw Teammate rules).
