I never said that a linemen-only team is more competetive, they are just cheaper than they should be. I guess (= not a fact) that's why they have a 0-12 limit.

I'm trying to think of some "cheap" linos, but can't at the moment. Which ones are you thinking of?

Have a look at the BB player cost calculator at www.blood-bowel.net, it says that the Lineman slot price should be slightly reduced at the end of team design (called "Lineman Discount") to make the basic position a bargain resp. positional players more expensive in relation.

cheap linemen

One example of a cheap lineman is the chaos beastman. 6 3 3 8 should cost him 50,000 - access to strength skills another 10,000. So he gets physical abilities (so do skaven) and Horns free.

I usually start chaos teams like this:

1 Chaos Warrior 100,000
10 Beastmen 600,000
3 Re-rolls 210,000
Fan factor 9 90,000

Regardless if you look at http://www.blood-bowl.net/BBTeamCostAnalysis.htm you can see that Longbeards, Zombies and Norse Linos get a discount. Hobgobs actually cost more.

So that doesn't really stand up to detailed analysis.

Also from Galak's site

7) Lineman must be cheap:
a) If you have a position with 8+ players, it must be 10k less in cost than any other position on the roster.

So its not that they ought to be discounted, its that the player ought to work out cheaper than the positional slots.

OK guys, move on. It was just a guess that came to my mind when someone asked why linemen slots are limited. Please, can somebody else make another suggestion we can disembowel now instead? 8)

Going back to the origioanl topic, making Dwarfs run more/better, Giving access to 4 Blitzers could reduce the need for "runners" who can throw, letting all ball handling be done by crunchier blitzers.
