Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!

No. It still better than a 1 or 2 in 6 chance. Everytime you try and dodge or gfi or do anything with a ball that 1 in 9 looks pretty good. Besides, turnovers are good. It makes the game edgy. You want edgy right?
But... it's only one per turn so I wouldn't fight RRs dropping price. I just don't think it'd be necessary.

Exceptions are a "Bad Thing(TM)" supposedly.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
I'm a big proponent of eliminating Big Guys altogether too. Let the Star Players exist to appease the fluff gods and JJ and get rid of the "rookie" Big Guys. Team sdon't need them anyway. Sorry Goblins and Halflings.
The current ones are broken...there have been so many rules trying to patch the broken nature of them but like everything else the obvious solution of redesign is a taboo.
Why are Ogres ST 5? Why not 4? Why aren't ogres and Black Orcs more similar? 4428 + mighty blow and maybe another Gen skill is not broken.
Same goes for the rest. Change the numbers to make them not broken and you wouldn't need stupid things like negative traits or Ogre teams that are really just snotling teams.
It's baffling to me why this is so hard to accomplish.
Basically cos JJ decided that Ogres et al were ST5, and that was that.

Which is the problem with another mechanic I know.
This is the sort of moronic behavior he exhibits that give me reason to call his design talents into question. People get upset when I do but...seriously, WTF? It's broken...it's been broken and we have been patching and band-aiding it for years.
Fix it, dear Henry!

Oh and this is absolutely correct. Joe may not want a line of 7 ability scores but the one reason big guys in Elfball are balanced is the Might/Tackle split. The ogres in Elfball may be tough but once you make that Impact roll they go down just as easy as anyone else. (Keeping them down is another matter...)

Is there any merit in defining "Big Guys" as being too Rooted, Bone-headed, Wild, Really Stupid, etc., that they cannot possibly be expected to learn skills (and thus their SPPs are wasted)? Define Mummies as BGs and we might be coming closer to fixing Undead/Khemri....
Would teams become more dynamic?
Just some thoughts rattlin' round....

I'd love 7 stats personally. I'm a detail hound. But I don't think that will ever happen.

I kinda think Big Guys are OK. I've had teams in the MBBL2 with multiple Big Guys, and to be honest they sucked. My Chaos Dwarf team started winning in the MBBL only after I fired my Minotaur. Wasn't that the desire with Big Guys? To have them in the game but not make them automatic choices? I mean, ST 5 isn't in itself a huge problem. Mummies on the Undead team never caused massive unbalances (I think it was the cheap regenerating linos that made Undead so good in tourneys).

I think a surprising amount of coaches would like this once they'd get a hang of it.
But, I suppose it will never happen. It's too radical.
(Perhaps in an MBBL3. And an MBBL4 alongside which combines 2 and 3. And...)
