Nah, I'm even worse at that than I am at BB!

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I have a chess buddy who beats me every time...(well I stale mate him sometimes) and I just can't get him to play Blood Bowl! I am really curious to see if he can whoop ass at BB. As far as I know he's undefeated at chess.

Maybe you should convince him playing chess with dices first. Then the step to BB is not that large anymore. 8)

Huh? Ok, I got the part of them showing up to 100% of the games, but how is that less negative than an Ogre that only "misses" 17% of the match? And at least the Ogre is there to put on the LOS when need be. And if the ogre has guard, he still does something during the 17%. If a treeman has guard you still don't get to use Guard 25% of the time.

Treeman NEVER cost you your blitz or pass action for a turn. I agree with Zombie the Take Root roll is more annoying than negative.

Well Galak, you make a good point there, but I am giong to have a hard time explaining "annoying" to my dead halflings I had to put on the LOS.

That's why we are testing an on-pitch version of Take Root to see if it is a better nega-skill to match up with the other nega-skills.

Also the current take root is a lot more harsh on the halfling teams than it is on the Wood Elves, who don't really need the support anyway.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

Well, first of all, hello to everybody. I´m back. I just happened to click the wrong bookmark, and started to read... I guess I couldn´t resist.

Well, onto the ogre thing...

I´d be glad to see the ogre out of the following rosters:

1.-Goblins
2.-Halflings
3.-Dwarves

...and maybe Norse, because I´d love to see a more race specific BG here (Snow Troll?).

Note that this is not about game balance, but more an "aesthetic" thing. I would like to see more diversity on the field.

The Ogre is quickly becoming the standard BG, and I guess nobody really likes it. This is mainly because the Minotaur is basically unplayable, and the Troll is less consistent than the Ogre.

Other than removing the Ogre from the Chaos (and Orc) teams, I think that the Minotaur and the Troll should be a REAL alternative. I mean, when you have three possible options and one of them is obviously better than the other two, there is no real choice. And that is what it´s happening now.

So, IMHO, the way to solve this problem is quite simple: just make the Minotaur and the Troll more "desirable". How to achieve this? I´d tone down Wild Animal and pump the Troll AV to 10. That would do the trick methinks.
