Pro Dwarfs

Pro Dwarfs. Dwarfs who try to play the ball, rather than the opposing team, and are actually more concerned with touchdowns than casualties! This type of Dwarf team usually originates from the less traditional members of the race, away from the ancient and parochial mountain strongholds. The first such teams sprung up in the large Dwarf district of Nuln, where many Dwarfs have settled and ply their trade as engineers. The Empire has been by far the most common producer of Pro Dwarf teams, although they are not unknown in other lands, including Norsca and Kislev. There are even rumours of a "ball-playing" Dwarf team springing up in the Barak Varr league! It goes without saying that the traditional Dwarf clans strongly disapprove of such behaviour.

this looks like the dwarf team atm but with 2 longbeards with stand firm instead of troll slayers

surely a dwarf team that played the ball more would have more runners

Uhmm it reads 0-4 Runners, .. maybe he has corrected it later, but i see the point he was refering as 'playing the ball' .. they have 6 possible ball handlers here ...

They have 4 runners. The current Dwarf team has 2. :-? Makes me think you didn't read the post properly!

Did you notice the linemen have MV 5? I think this the key to the team's ability to work the ball. This gives them much more flexibility, allowing the linos to keep up with the ball carrier. This is a weakness of the standard Dwarf team.

Nope, it was always 0-4. You can't edit a poll, so there is no way I could have gone back and changed it!

Note the average MV of this team (with max positionals) is 5.2. whereas the standard Dwarf team's is 4.7. A big difference, IMO.

The changes from the Dwarf roster are subtle, I know. But I think they would lead to a markedly different style of play. :D Thanks for your responses.

It is worth 10k more than Tackle (JJs formula). Also, longbeards get a 10k discount that my blockers don't (because they are 0-2 positionals).

Stand Firm is a truly awesome skill, and is far more important to this team's style of play than tackle could ever be. Besides, these are offensive dwarfs, which is why they don't have the defensive skill tackle.

I like them. The more variety the better.

On a second view I'd say Linedwarves should only have MA 4 (didn't see that in the first place). If a Longbeard with MA 4 and tackle costs 70k it's unjustified to offer MA 5 Linedwarves without Tackle. The Blockers could be slightly tweaked too (Dauntless instead of Stand Firm perhaps?)

the only thing i don't like is that they get more positionals than regular dwarves. i know dwarves suck but pro's would rock'em everytime.
