Another all-skill team: Pro-team

Human pro-teams are home of greedy players who want to be stars. They've trained hard alone until a talent scout took them with and still like to train in small groups which makes it a team of good individuals rather than a good team of average players.
Code: Select all
Qty Position Cost Ma St Ag Av Skill & Traits Access
0-6 Blocker 60k 5 3 2 8 Block, Pro General
0-2 Thrower 80k 6 3 3 8 Accurate, Pro General, Passing
0-4 Catcher 90k 6 3 3 8 Catch, Sprint, Pro General, Agility
0-2 Runner 90k 7 3 3 8 Sure Hands, Pro General, Agility
0-2 Blitzer 100k 6 3 3 9 Strip Ball, Pro General, Strength
Rerolls 100k
Idea is to make a team that's all pro but has also a variety of positional players of which some make others useless (Like having both runners and catchers on the field at the same time) and allowing some different tactics to be used.
No star can be a lineman so there's no lineman position, blockers are ~linos but still able to become stars. The block with them on the beginning makes me wonder if this team is too strong. Would they be decent blockers without block? Blitzers were given strip ball to make them more unique and remove some block from starting team.
Rerolls are expensive as they haven't trained together. With the crappiest starting line one could get two rerolls and ff of one.

I think you've got too many positional players on your team and not enough basic lineman types, which makes your team break some of the rules on team generation (which you can find at
www.midgardbb.com)
8 ) No more than 10 of a non-lineman slot.
11 ) Team roster should not have more than four positions.
The everybody having Pro thing is the gimmick, no need to introduce odd players like Blitzers with Strip Ball and Passers with Accurate.
I really think the team should be something like
Lineman : Pro G
Passer : Pass Sure Hands Pro GP
Catcher : Catch Pro GA
Blitzer : Block Pro GS
I guess an interesting mix is to not use skills that give you a reroll (presumably the idea behind your passer with accurate) as you have Pro for that. Something like
Lineman : Pro G
Passer : Accurate Sure Hands Pro GP
Catcher : Sprint Diving Catch Pro GA
Blitzer : Block Pro GS

Not sure i'd want to play against an all Pro team, the game could drag on for ages with all that Dice rolling.

a complete pro team... good idea, but, IMO, should be more like the norse and amazon team.

Make all the Pro roles you want in 4 minutes!
We don't use the 4 minute rule... But we could!

You're right about the number of position just as with the lack of linemen. I wanted to create a team that could have strong professional playing style: Run and throw the ball well and have guys for every spot (although not very good players to avoid being overpowered). Also the accurate instead of pass was because of pro, but that's not the biggest problem.
Probably many guys won't use pro unless they failed an action, and so it will not take hours to roll for those pro-rolls.
Code: Select all
Qty Position Cost Ma St Ag Av Skill & Traits Access
0-12 Lineman 60k 6 3 3 8 Pro General
0-2 Thrower 80k 6 3 3 8 Pass, Pro General, Passing
0-4 Catcher 90k 6 3 3 8 Catch, Sprint, Pro General, Agility
0-2 Runner 90k 7 3 3 8 Sure Hands, Pro General, Agility
0-2 Blitzer 100k 6 3 3 9 Block, Pro General, Strength
Rerolls 100k
Usual starting skills for players.
So five positions, but there's only one ball which can be thrown or run forward. It's more like an option to start with running or passing the ball and end up using both or only other method. It was still just an idea so maybe better forget it if five positions is a way too much.

I like this idea sounds fun. Dont know about balance issues it all seems to be off the top of your head but If you lived near me Id be happy to try this team out.

Remove the runner and remove Sprint from the catchers and the team is fine as a house-rules roster.

Well, remove the runner and add 0-4 blitzer slots. Makes it pretty much a clone of the 'Zon and Norse roster, though perhaps they should get a big guy with those super expensive rerolls.
