Intercept Clarification Rule

When passing, it is sometimes hard to figure out who can intercept. Namely, when the intercepter is in the TZ of the passer or reciever.
:o = thrower
:( = can't intercept
:) = can intercept
 = flight path

BBRC has ruled that "between" passer and reciever means:

:( :( :)
:( :o :)
:( :( :)
When the ball is thrown straight to the right.
The problem is how this is to be interpreted when the player throws at an angle.
A 45 degree angle presumably means:
:( :) :)
:( :o :)
:( :( :(

But how about other angles - i.e. ones that aren't one of the 8 cardinal directions? Is it still 3 intercept squares? And if so, which ones? Or is it 4? (Math with center of square seems to imply this).

In my league we solved this by saying that you can intercept under the ruler (as normal) as well as in any TZ square of the thrower or reciever.

This makes pass block a marginally better skill.
It also makes dump-off somewhat weaker. (IMO, this would be good in a vault setting, where NOS has gone back to being a throwing skill).

Cheers
