Norse Blockers

Would Norse blockers:
0-4 6, 3, 3, 7 Block Stand firm 70K G, S.
instead of the Norse catchers make them weaker at the start (harder to score) but stronger later as developed blockers support the blitzeres more effectivly? A lot of people seem to think this would be a good thing.

If they're supposed to be replacing the catchers, they should only be 2 max., but that's just my opinion.

I thought the greater number would add to the long term development for norse without adding much (or anything) at the start.

The Catchers are very important for the Norse team imo, as they are the only ones with AG access.

I think the new skills and the inducement rules that are in the vault will help the Norse to stay competitive in the long run ... After all, Norse get a Block lineman as an inducement and that's probably one of the best deals you can think of!

But that makes Norse a competitive underdog without necessarily giving them the boost they seem to need at higher TVs when they are not dying in droves. Whether this is a bad thing though...

I would quite like to see a change made to norse but not at the loss of ther catchers. I prefure the idea of a rough and tumble passing team than a team that can only bash. Possibly splitting the 4 blitzers into 2 blockers and 2 berzerkers. Anyway I dont know.

Also If I were to see Norse Blockers I think they should have Toughness (think skull) and/or dauntless rather than SF. Maybe call then Norse stalwards or something too?

Well, i do think the norse roster needs work, but i am not sure if i like taking away their catchers. They arent quite strong/heavily armored enough to play a strict bashing game, since once theyre down, they lose players more easily than elves. At low TR, they are good, but as they advance other teams supass them quite easily. they need at least 2 agile players, or they would have little to no chance...

I think taking away catchers would be a disaster personnally. In fact 2 More players with Blodge and step asside might really help them at High TR without affecting them at low TR and give norse a different playing style too.

They could bash quite well at first but as they grow up and skill up they would need to learn to make a tough recieving cage and pass the ball a bit more to avoid being trampled on.

I think the norseteam don't need a change.

Ok, the lineman are week at a long term developement but there some other teams which had bigger problems at long term leagues (e.g. Proelves)

Sorry, not more traits on Norse players, please. They already have 4x Frenzy, Jump Up Blitzers. Apart from Witchelfs and Troll Slayers they are the only position that begins with 2 Traits. And they are the only players in BB that begin with a trait they normally can't get.

I figured the 4 blitzers don't count because Norse coaches always say they spend most of their time off the pitch. I suppose it must be some sort of contract problem :)

Norse get murdered long term. Where 'Zons have the ability to get all Blodgers, Norse need to decide on Dodge or Guard on doubles. AV with no way to get out is a death sentance later on. Catchers are huge because of their relative resiliance early on. You can get Dodge and put them in harms way on D. If they were replaced by Av8 blockers maybe, but I say ain't broke, don't fix.

Well I here that Norse arent broke and In tournaments that is probably true but I play in leagues and Ive always found Norse to be one of the worst if not the worse team to play.

Well, what i'd like to try is give them access to 4 catchers to help out long term.
