Changes to the Halfies

I've always felt that the Goblins and the Halflings where too similar. I think that this can be revised giving them completely different tracks and pushing the halflings into there WFB role of accurate, slow and hungry.
Heres my suggestion ~( :pissed: it if you want - but i like it.)

Goblins: reduce AV to bring their cost in line with the Halflings.

Halflings: Change Dodge to Dump Off
Change skill access from Agility to Passing
Reduce cost of Master Chef from 50k to 40k

Furelli.

P.S. This also leads to a new stunty team with only access to Strength skills, which can be seen on my suggestion for the Pygmies.

Goblins agree with reduction to AV

Halflings. Personnally a team with full access to Dump off is a bit too much. Maybe if we go down this route, maybe split the roster with 4 Halflings, starting with Dump off, although i'm still not sure that Dump Off fits well into the halfling mythos, i think i'd prefer them with access to strength rather than passing skills IMO.

Also Master Chef should be for free.

Conclusion: As long as they remain cannon Fodder, then ok.

How good would dump off be, after all they do suffer the range band penalty, It'd be a 4+ roll, if someone was in the TZ then 5+(I think)

Yep, dump off wouldn't be of much use, unless they get +1AG and/or NoS...

One needs to work on this idea, but I'd definitely like the lil 'uns to be different from each other, maybe even introduce a second position for both of them?

I think the second position was raised before, something in line with the old 2nd ed when both had Liners and catchers, same stats liners get Gen skill access, not agility,
catchers have agility access and start with catch.

These were second positions as posted long ago on the BB Mailing List:

* Goblin Catcher: Add Catch, costs 60K
* Halfling Runner: Add Sure Feet, costs 50K

I think those guys in a 0-2 or 0-4 capacity would help differentiate the teams. It would also give them a leg up. It's my opinion that the Master Chef should be the Head Coach and Goblins should get some decent free advantage from any Secret Weapon rules.

Cheers!

Those changes would certainly make playing them a bit more fun and give different stlye of play, Is there any real chance that these could get brought up at the next review?

I also think that gobbos should be able to get dirty player with any roll, instead of just doubles.

As long as when you're done, gobbos and flings still suck, you can change their teams however you want :)

Listen to the gobbo coach:
No need to play that dirty with DP if you re running well and scrtch some face when you can.(running over the face...)

I'm not saying they need it, it's just a flavor thing. Goblins are the most dirty players of blood bowl ever, it seems odd that they are one of the very few races that have to roll doubles to get it.

Maybe if you want the halflings to keep up, let them get Nerves of Steel without doubles...fits their image too.

Goblins foul like the dickens. Learning the skill that goes into being a truly great fouler? Probably a bit beyond their reach.

You won't see any rules that allow access exceptions like those described. It's simply too much clutter. If a league wants to house-rule it, be my guest!

And what skills are those, do you think exactly? Learning to kick where it really hurts? I think they learn those OFF the field, just in everyday practice on whatever is available, their ladz, or even themselves!

Yeah, I'm generally a charter member of the "KISS" camp as well, but since stunties aren't really a serious team anyway, what the heck. :)

gobbo are not very well known for fouling but for their secrets weapons and using dirty tricks...
so my believes are that rules about gobbos and halfies are good asthey stand. i only wish more SW and maybe more big guyz.
