Making niggling injuries on pitch instead of off pitch

Most of the off pitch rolls to remove players have been done away with and I think niggling injuries also could be turned into something more tactical so how about this?

Every niggling injury gives +1 on rolls on the serious injury table.

The serious injury table is replaced with:
D66 =D6x10 +D6
ï‚· 11-16 Miss next game
ï‚· 21-26 Miss next game
ï‚· 31-36 Miss next game
ï‚· 41-46 MNG niggling injury
ï‚· 51-56 MNG nggling injury
ï‚· 61-62 MNG, -1 Mv
ï‚· 63-64 MNG, -1 Av
ï‚· 65 MNG, -1 Ag
ï‚· 66 MNG, -1 St
ï‚· 70+
ï‚· x1-x2, MNG -1Mv, niggling injury
ï‚· x3-x4. MNG -1Av, niggling injury
ï‚· x5, MNG -1Ag, niggling injury
ï‚· x6, MNG -1Str, niggling injury

It turns a niggling injury into a rather dangerous injury since the player will start getting quite smashed up as soon as he have suffered a niggling injury but it also removes the annoyance of having a 1/6 chance to rob you of you greatest player.

I like the idea of a greater range of penalties but can be difficult to track inbetween each game!! Imagine this level of stat adjustment in a tourney!! Need to carry a laptop & spreadsheet!!

How about a simple one:

Whenever a player suffers a MNG injury, he must miss an additional game for each Niggling Injury that he already had.
That should get him fired :)

Actually it's no difference from the current serious injury table apart from the 70+ part which is used to seriously hurt the niggled players.

Yeah I really wasn't sure on how to clarify that any result of 70+ would result in the same D6 roll.

I think the problem is that your post never actually says what a niggling injury means in your system. You have a new chart, but no new niggling injury definition. Also, I must say that your system still leaves the niggling injury off the pitch in the majority of cases, because unless the player is seriously injured (about to go off the pitch), no niggling injuries would matter. The player might as well be off the pitch if you aren't going to use the apothecary.

I wonder, maybe the Vault has what you desire.

Now there's a rule that does what you're asking for! All hail the Vault!

Doesn't the Vault just give two extra MNG causing rolls when you roll on the CAS table?

Nope.
it adds +1 to your injury rolls.
