I think the winnings roll is meant to incorporate all methods of income, including sponsorship. As a team becomes better (and so more famous), the money they earn from sponsorship deal is cancelled out by an increase in wages and expenses.

If you wanted to house rule something like this though, I guess it could be fun. I can't see how you could do it without favouring the higher TR teams though, the exact teams who we want to earn less money.

If you have a division structure in your league, sponsorship would be a good way to justify differences in spiralling expenses between the divisions in a PBBL league.

Other options would be to have a set of sponsors, and assign different behaviour to each. eg, the sponsor offers extra winnings if:
- You win with 2 TDs difference
- You lose a player
- You don't foul
- You score 2 CAS more than the opposition
- You kill a player with 2 skills or more

The amount of extra winnings would be related to the likelines of getting the sponsorship money (killing a skilled player would give more money than not fouling). I think this would actually be a nice touch for cup matches or play-offs where sponsors will put bounties on star players or reward fair play.
