Got a great idea and/or proposal for BloodBowl?

Khemri and Norse Fields

Post by tommy316 »

I was looking at the Jungle Bowl rules and was wondering if anybody had given any thought into making similiar rules for the Khemri and Norse- seeing as those two teams are from extreme weather regions as well.

Examples:

KHEMRI- sand storms, quick sand, scarab attacks, asp attacks, scorpions, heat stroke, Tut's curse, etc.,etc.

NORSE- Snow Blind, Blizzard most of the time, snow drifts, polar bear attacks, ice patches, frost bite, etc.,etc..

Nothing really major in the concept, just change up the Special Play rules a little.

Although I was thinking about maybe placing a 4 tier pyramid in the center of the field (2 center squares on top and then wrap around them and rise).

Players would have to climb over or go around it, plus throw around it (unless they are on the same level or higher on the pyramid, then they may pass the ball DOWN the pyramid or ACROSS the tier).

Players pushed back or knocked down on the pyramid fall all the way to the bottom of the pyramid, +(X) Armor Roll{X= number of squares fallen}.

Just an Idea. ANY SUGGESTIONS for either teams?

- I'm sure I posted this idea before, not sure if it was here, BBC or NAF- but I can't find the original if there was one.

my preference is to avoid the mistake of creating rules that affect the design and implimentation of the game as its played on the field... but instead to achieve specific flavor through the use of creative variations to the weather and kickoff table... i liked the idea so much, in fact, that i started a whole league just to improve a set of stadiums i'd designed using this idea...

www.lplbb.com, look under "stadiums"

so far, so good... it's a really fun way to get flavor into a game, avoid the staleness of the old kickoff tables, and it really makes games more distinctive...

I can only say one thing:

VERY F'N NICE!!!!!!!!!Thanks for the link.

But, you're missing these two team/ stadium styles. Unless I missed it- nothing about a Desert or Artic region.
Your format is exactly what I was trying to come up with, thanks for the help.
And, I still like my Pyramid idea.
I think something like that would be an interesting option, and would force a running game. Plus the fun of seeing a opponent get shoved from the top of the pyramid and dropping back all the way to the ground.

there is a norse stadium of sorts... the skeggi stadium is a norse-flavored colony... lots of drinking, fat singing women in tin braziers, that sort of thing.... one day i'm going to finish creating another dozen stadiums in this series that cover the old world and other famous venues... wherein you'll get a norse and khemri stadium proper (i think i have the longship stadium graphic done, actually)...

while i certainly see a level of amusement value in weird-onfield-effect stadiums, especially in the context of a tournament or other short-duration setting like that, i would highly discourage introducing them into the flow of league play...

PHIL- "while i certainly see a level of amusement value in weird-onfield-effect stadiums, especially in the context of a tournament or other short-duration setting like that, i would highly discourage introducing them into the flow of league play..."

- That's all I was suggesting, something along the line of Jungle Bowl. Not for every game league use.

By the way- NO VALKYRIE TEAMS in your league, shame on you!

but even though i appreciate the sentiment of doing a special circumstances game, i still probably wouldn't, in favor of the system i prefer... i'm still consistent, just in a round-about way...

and i had nothing to do with the rules for the valkyrie team, they cam after the minis... i've got my own use for them...

BBMag 7 has Andy Hall's rules for "Dune bowl". Then there are the wacky Beach BB rules...

Actually the concept for the Valkyries started almost a year before your mini's hit; although not a complete team of them at first. :) Thank God you kicked out some sweet mini's though, the Ghost mini's were pretty weak.

And I wasn't suggesting the Pyramid for your league/ stadiums; your format is awesome and the pyramid doesn't fit in. Just an idea I'm kicking around in my head.

Can't wait to see what you come up with for the next set of stadiums, keep up the good work.
