New Big Guy: Norse Yeti
Hello all. In the league I run several of the coaches feel that Minotaurs and Ogres should be removed from the choices for the Norse team & I tend to agree with them. Especially after seeing the Reaper miniature Yeti
Someone posted that guy in the miniatures section and I immediately ordered him. But instead of an ogre let's make him a Yeti. So my question to the wonderful minds of TBB is . . . .
What stats, skills, and such could we make for this Norse Yeti? Keep in mind we're replacing the Ogre and the Minataur. (In my league)

Okay ... this will met some resistance, but here is what I would do.
1) Drop the Minotaur and Ogre from the Norse team.
2) Replace the Minotaur with a Troll and use the Yeti figure as a Snow Troll. The Original 3rd edition Norse team had a Snow Troll. I think the Yeti figure would work perfectly as a Snow Troll.
3) Replace the Ogre with a Barbarian and use the Thrud Figure.
Barbarian Stats: 6/5/2/8 100k Big Guy, Mighty Blow, Thick Skull, Frenzy, Bonehead, Wild Animal

If I was going to give stats I think I'd give
5 5 1 8 Regenerate, Wild Animal, Claw, - G, S
Lower Armor to keep in line with the Norse and a little quicker movement, I dunno I just see a Yeti as a little quicker than 4. No sense to me to give them Throw Teammate. Frenzy maybe?

The thing that is overpowered is the number of LRB lovers here at TBB. Winning has overpowered fun.

Throw Teammate and Mighty Blow are standard on all big guys. I took Mighty Blow off the Yeti and gave him Claw just to make him different. He'd also be the first Wild Animal without Frenzy, which I like just fine.

I see your point on the Throw Teammate. Also I never noticed the Frenzy/Wild Animal combo. Although I do see all Big Guys having Mighty Blow which Claw does change up. I like that so far.
What do you think about the movement/armor changes?

I think the Troll statline 4/5/1/9 MB, TTM, Regen, RS, AH 100k would work just fine. ....Skummy wrote:So what kind of a statline do we give the Yeti?
4 5 1 9 Throw Teammmate, Regenerate, Wild Animal, Claw - G, S, 130,000?
Claw on an ST 5 player is not a good idea. Just give him Troll Stats. The Snow Troll had Troll stats when he was first published for the most part.

Except Kroxigor's, which don't have TTM, and only got MB last Oct.Skummy wrote:Throw Teammate and Mighty Blow are standard on all big guys.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I'm not really worried about official. Just something a little different for our league. House-rules are perfectly welcome.Skummy wrote:Oh, I don't think any of this will be official, but it would be nice to see some variance in the Big Guys. It might be fun as a house rule.

You know, the Rat Ogre doesn't have Throw Teammate in the current LRB either. I wonder if that's a holdover from the 4th edition rules, where Gutter Runners and Skinks could be thrown. Interesting.Darkson wrote:Except Kroxigor's, which don't have TTM, and only got MB last Oct.
Hrothgar, I'd price the modified Snow Troll around 110,000 or 120,000. I guess it depends on how valuable you think Claw is.
