Re: GreenDog Figs - NEW RELEASES 2013 - Tomb Guardians

Well, it is an issue for me. Being called "Tomb Guardians" it is clear they guard something. I decided to add something in between and provide them couple of spikes. Their function is basicly defensive and breaking in attack, and most players add them Migthy Blow, so I think is worthy to represent them with something... dangerous, in their hands.

BTW, what do you think about the rest of the figure?

I like.
Not totally convinced by the bird head though. I'm not sure exactly why, but it doesn't quite work for me - perhaps the beak could be a little bigger?
No issue on the arm blades for me - just a different version other punch daggers many figures have.

Thanks.

About the bird one, it was a question of background. I also realize that Horus was probably a hawk, but when I searched in the web, I've found this absolutely bird head. Think the painting job in its eyes could help...

We also could modify the beak if feedback is totally in this sense...

On first look I think they look good, but of course hard to tell when they aren't on a base next to another model. I guess I would have concerns that they would be too tall - if so they would be too slender. If not to tall the proportions would look good in a skinny skeleton team.

In regards the daggers the 'punch dagger' style mounting I am fine with, I simply chop them off and leave them as knuckle dusters. indeed here the Morg style pose dagger isn't that bad - beyond my instinctive dislike for them - but the other one has a large blade with handle that its holding - both to me obviously a weapon and very hard to remove from the model easily.

Once we are going to set up a parts sprue, I could check if is feasible to put the blade and spike also in sepparate.

Thanks for the feedback. Was hard to decide if put the weapons or not.

To be honest, In these days we also need to consider if someone could use them for WH. Anything that could help sales should be take into account...

True, no doubt why you have the detachable shoulder pads. I haven't a clue about fantasy to know what weapons mummies have (I lean more towards hammer horror :) ), or indeed if it is feasible to make an easily attachable one that will withstand use and not affect the models pose (sport and war despite the WWI posters being a bit different).

So, going to stick these through Galacks plastication process? :)

First two pieces look great. I think I'd perfer Sobek to Toth for the 4th one ... but so far these look really good ... well done.

They look great. I have no problem with the blades.

I think Horus would look better if he had a larger headdress. Without an exaggerated hood, as most of the mythological depictions have, he gets a bit of a pinhead look to him.

Let's try large headdress for Horus, I think you're right.

Let's try also Sobek, maybe I could include 5 heads in the pack of 4 minis... Not in the casting cost point yet, but let's think about.
