There were a few games, especially, that were just 1 or 2 dice rolls from concluding and were called on time. Like a 2 dice block needing a push and a dodge with reroll to win that ended up as a draw. The judges were strict even when both players were happy to have the dice rolled.

It would have been quicker to let the players roll the dice than to go through the argument it caused.

I think there is definitely an agreement that some of the rules, if approved, can be condensed and simplified.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. The meeting was last night and clocked in at around 4 hours! I thought it was a smooth and productive meeting with a lot achieved.

Full minutes will be produced in the next day or so, and when done I will post them here. For us there were 2 main areas where I think we had a strong preference, so I'll reveal then now:

1. Chess clocks will only be mandatory if one of the players requests it, and if you run out of time then you may only stand up players. This means if a player needs a dice roll to stand up then they cannot stand up. Other details to follow.

2. There was a marginal victory in the desire to create a more restricted set of rule boundaries. The specific rules will need a future vote as they will be a charter change. This echoes most of the voices to try and keep EB as the premier competitive international tournament.

Happy to answer any other questions ahead of the minutes being released.

I've reffed some big events (including Eurobowl Cardiff) and have had that end of round conversation many times.
Ref discretion is advised.
Personally if I can see that only a small dice roll is needed to give a final result I just let that happen, for example, or if there's 4 turns left you just have to call it.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.
Bribe level: good coffee.

Thanks again to those providing feedback. Minutes should be out this weekend.

The EB Captains' conversations have had a lot of involvement over the last week, which has delayed setting up the new discord. That will now be ready this Friday. I will drop the server invite here and spread the word.
