Squad England invites (the wider team from which the pool of players will be selected) has gone out. If you applied then please check your email. This will also include the link to the new SqE discord server (which will be opened to everyone on Monday).


Notable dates are:
• Dec 5th – Squad England players invited to Squad England discord community.
• Dec 8th – Squad England discord community opened to all players.
• Jan 24th (no longer Jan 18th) – Team England 12 are announced.
• Feb 22nd – Registration for national teams opened.
• Mar 1st – Registration for Open teams opened.
• Jul 5/6th – Home Nations event
• Jul 12th – Team England Eurobowl and Europen teams finalised.


Additional information:
• Eurobowl/Europen tickets will cost 150 EUR.
o Includes lunch both days, a pitch, and dice.
• Guest tickets for non players will be 50 EUR, but children under 14 will be free.
• There is a special package for accommodation next to the venue:
o 4* hotel with people sharing in twin rooms
o 300 EUR for 3 nights (breakfast included) per person.

Apologies everyone but I caught a chest infection over Christmas, like most people it seems! This has caused a slight delay to the publication of the 12 which will now be on Friday Jan 24th at 7pm.

Captain’s Commentary
After much consideration, a lot of stats and game checking, and all the other important work that goes into the responsibility of picking the 12 players for the Team England 2025 group, I’m able to announce the list of people that have been selected. This year was particularly difficult, in part due to the high number of great coaches, but also due to the funk of the incredibly volatile ruleset. With this big a change to the meta it meant that some selections were far more roster-focused than in previous years, and it also meant that some coaches who are more than capable of playing the in EB8 missed out. I wish it were otherwise, but my role is to try and pick the team that can win the most rounds on the day.

This also had some impact on my own decision of whether to play, and so I can confirm that I will be a non-playing captain this year. Not only are there a lot of benefits to being able to prepare and manage the team without having to focus on your own games, but with the ruleset heavily nerfing Lizards, my clear best roster, it meant that there are many others who can do a better job. I said in my candidacy statement that the only reason I might pick myself is if we were lacking in experience through the 12, but such was the weight of excellent coaches that applied that there is absolutely no need for this. I’m genuinely excited by what we can achieve, and I think we have a great balance of long time veterans and new players breaking into this level.

To add to this GreenskinPhil has also agreed to come with me in a non-playing role to help support the team and myself, both with the preparation and focus of the group, but also on the day. A big thanks to him for supporting the nation in this way, and in this capacity he will also be filling in as first reserve.

Now begins the hard work of finalising roster selections, and practicing ahead of the Home Nations tournament in July which will see the squad of 12 broken into the Eurobowl 8 and the Europen 4. It is also crucial that the wider Squad England continues to support the team for the year, and I look forward to working within the wider group for this year.
