Well despite all the paranoia I managed to order ten tickets for the ECBBL today.
Some of you need to step back and look at the figures from the last three years of the BB.
The GCN bought 70 of their allocation of 100. I had the option of getting some through Tanelorn but decided to book with my fellow ECBBL members. I could have tried to register us with the GCN but as I am not a commissioner of the league did not feel it was appropriate for me to do that.
That leaves 130 tickets. Of those 70 probably as many as half (if not more) would have got tickets for the BB. Certainly most of the Tanelorn members attending have attended before. That makes 165. Which is pretty much the most that have attended any of the previous BB's.
So in reality it is the same volume of tickets that gets sold.
One thing for Clusters though. The BB community is very different to the WFB and 40K communities. We have very few arses playing BB than you do the other systems (especially at GW). The attitude and approach and socialising is far more relaxed and far less 'stick with your own team' than you see at the other events. This is well demonstrated by your approach to WYSIWYG at your own tournament which seems a little bit OTT for my tastes, and is not something you would see at a BB tournament.
I did not attend the BB last year because of the rumour of a price hike. However I did miss out on seeing people because of not attending, which is why I'm going this year. For the social aspect. If I do well, it's a bonus (and with how I'm currently playing a miracle). And it will be sad if some of the regular tournament faces feel they cannot attend what should be the premier tournament of the year.
Well, I'll dissapear now that I've peed off both sides of the argument

Hey, everyone leave Cluster alone...he's a mate of mine and his gaming club and it's members are cool. I can confirm they love Blood Bowl...plus I'm bored of all these posts![]()
Remained focused and complain about GWs (not GCN) latest attempts at doing wierd things to the Blood Bowl again...

Thanks dwarfcoach!
I forgot to set my alarm, and woke up at 10.30 cursing my luck for missing out on another BB. Didn't even try to ring.
If I hadn't seen that message I would have not rung ... but I did and got my ticket!
Wow ... and after all that fuss about the GCN.

I think your mistaking us for the Brighton Warlords (different club), otherwise I am not sure what you mean by my approach to WYSIWYG.lowsman2 wrote:This is well demonstrated by your approach to WYSIWYG at your own tournament which seems a little bit OTT for my tastes, and is not something you would see at a BB tournament.

I talked to my local GW store manager (a real company man who's been with them a long time) about the GCN getting pre sales and he was genuinely surprised that there should be any controversy over that. I guess he had just assumed that there was surely a good deal of overlap of BB league coaches and GCN club members.
