Is this now the biggest simple player blood bowl tournament ever? Woo!
Previous biggest was the Blood Bowl at GW under Pippy's reign. At 189.

No - but if you just want to join the naf you can do it at registration the naf guys are always setup there - most of us renew our membership at this tournament.Josh1986 wrote:Hi everyone

Hi All,
Do we need to submit rosters in advance by email like previous years? I couldn't find any mention in the rules pack one way or the other.
Cheers,
Chris

I believe so! Amazing effort from Hawca and team!
Ceetee - there's no roster presubmission process. You'll be required to provide a paper copy of your chosen roster on the Saturday morning (besides the one you use throughout the tournament). Opponents will be asked to check one another's rosters each round.
(Hawca will correct me if I'm wrong...)

That sounds right to me. When asked to submit rosters, very few did...

Re: NAF Championships 2017 - April 29th and 30th
Indeedy. I think it's a smart move not to ask for roster submissions.
Doing so involves a significant amount of cat herding from the Blood Bowling public. Many are very diligent and prompt, others less so
Inevitably some won't submit. Enforce it by penalising late submissions, or non-submissions? FF penalty or similar? More admin. Also quite harsh.
Then there's the not insignificant job of checking the rosters, making sure they're right.
Even if you do all of the above there's actually still nothing stopping someone from turning up with a different / illegal roster on the day anyway. That still would need to be checked.
Many don't decide their roster til the night or morning before. No reason why they can't continue to do this. Saves the organisers a lot of work and allows them to be as last-minute as they like. As long as they bring two paper copies of their roster on the day!
Opponents will be asked to do the checking. 200 Blood Bowl brains out there to do that job. Smart bit of delegation on the part of the refs I'd say!

Re: NAF Championships 2017 - April 29th and 30th
Quite so. There's never any need for pre-tournament rosters*. Getting them in early doesn't guarantee fewer errors on the day for the reasons Bren outlines (and more), but it does ruin plenty of back of the envelope fun the week before you show up. Opponents and the laptop team have rounds 1-2 to have a good look.
*The pre-WC rosters in the app were pretty cool and likely took some pressure off on the weekend. A fair enough, understandable exception to the rule.
