Re: TE EurOpen Team - Open for Nomination
I can confirm Gritter texted me last night at 2326. I'm happy to take responsibility for this breach of application protocol. Following the EB Team England nominations, I encouraged all hopefuls to apply for the TE EO team if they weren't successful. However, I didn't specifically direct them to a new thread, and so it is understandable that Martin missed it and texted me instead.Gritter_ wrote:Me too if not too late now.

Re: TE EurOpen Team - Open for Nomination
After a lot of deliberating, the Commitee has arrived at a decision re: the selection for the Team Europen squad. The line-up will be:
- Speedingbullet (Cpt)
- Gritter
- Douglowe
Thanks to everyone that stood, it was very much appreciated, and it gave us a few headaches when trying to reach a final decision. The unsuccessful candidates have been messaged, and feedback has been given on the decision-making process.
Congratulations to the trio selected. Here’s to a strong performance in Poland!

Re: TE EurOpen Team - Open for Nomination
Congratulations to all three and commiserations to those that missed out.
It was great list of coaches and I'm sure a really difficult decision for the committee to make.
I've got to give a particular shout out to my friend, UKTC team mate and occasional arch rival, Speedingbullet.
Not only he is a fantastic player but he's also one of the nicest guys you'll meet.

Re: TE EurOpen Team - Open for Nomination
Dear English Community
As a reminder, the aim of the Team England EurOpen team is:
- The 4-person squad should be competitive, with an aim to win the event
- The squad will be part of a 12-person Team England, and will be fully involved in pre-EB discussion (rosters, tactics, planning for accommodation, shirts, flights, banter), as well as dinner in Malta and entertainment
- Selection will be made by the committee, with more or less work done by the captain, depending on their personal ability
- There will be an aim to use the squad as a route into the Eurobowl team, but it will not be restricted to people who have not played for Team England, as having a mix of experienced and less experienced coaches will be competitive, and provide a strong team
- If a committee member wishes to put themselves forward, then a separate discussion will take place without them present.
Following the announcement of the EuroBowl Team England squad today, I am now asking for self-nominations for the EurOpen squad, to close at midnight on Wednesday 15th December. The committee will announce the EurOpen squad on (or before) Wednesday 29th Dec. This will give people time to plan their lives, or fix other EurOpen teams if they are unsuccessful.
Please begin self-nominating below!

Re: TE EurOpen Team - Open for Nomination
Hi, I'd like to nominate myself please.
Naf: Gurgeh (23984)
2020 Naf tournament record 5/0/1, runner up Bombvember 2021, Squad Chaos Tabletop Sim league semi-finalist
Wildcard tbh, plenty of tournament experience including Dornbirn World Cup, enjoy competitive play... I've seen enough of this crazy game to have a laugh with the misfortune, whilst maintaining a play to win attitude.

Re: TE EurOpen Team - Open for Nomination
Many thanks to the coaches who put themselves forward for the EurOpen England team to be part of Team England.
Congratulations to the chosen four:
Speeding bullet
Wulfyn
DougLowe
Spleggy
Commiserations to those not successful this time. I know it has been hard during covid, but to be picked for the EurOpen team, coaches need to have proved themselves at weekend tournaments with top euro coaches.
