Double 5 on Pro Elf catcher

The team:

2 Throwers (inexperienced)
2 Blitzers (1 tackle, 1 inexperienced)
3 Catchers (1 Blodge, Leap, 1 Dodge)
7 Linos (1 Kick, 1 AG6, 1 Block, 4Nigs)

My third catcher got his first increase (2 TDs in his first match :D ) and it's Double 5. What do I give him?

Dauntless? Frenzy? (Big fan of Frenzy, but I think it might be better on a Blitzer; these already have Block and Sidestep) something else entirely? Should I actually take the MV increase?

Take the MA+ so you have a decent movement with MA9 you can do a OTT. With a little bit of pushing ;-)

I'd still need a lot of pushing for that. I dont' think it would ever happen, and if that's the only reason for taking the MV, I'd rather use the doubles

NO, seriously, take the MA. I know it feels like a waste to have a positional player get a new skill roll but remain skill-less. I can only repeat what has been said numerous times before here at TBB: one point of movement does matter, even more at the high end of the scale. You'll begin to feel the superiority of this player when he gets some more (normal) skills.

But beware, such candidates have the odd luck to roll several stat increases after each other, thereby spoiling all your plans for building this particular player according to your wishes... :D

But a Mv8 Frenzy player (awaiting Block and Tackle) would be devastating on Defence against catchers; no place is safe for a double blitz and standing to near to the sideline means Bye Bye Wood Elf...

I 'd take the MA as well, even if it is a bit frustrating...

Redfang, if you are so inclined on taking frenzy, then do it. You'll be horribly disappointed afterwards on "soo many occasions where you could have pushed them out", even though a 'more rational' choice might work better.

I did the same thing and agreed to a 'more rational' choice and missed my whacky idea afterwards (which was taking multi block on a str6 ogre which changed to the conservaitve block choice). Right after I chose block, every turn with that ogre I could have multiblocked with him and I really wished I hd gone for it.

He, he, I guess you coached Dwarfs for too long: obviously it doesn't matter to you if you have a "very fast" or "incredible fast" player, as long he is not as "slow" as a dwarf. :D 8) :D

It looks to me as if you want to develop a Witch Elf for your pro-elfs, but you should try maximizing the strengths of your team, and that is (among others) speed.

At the end of the day, take what you think you'll have most fun with...

Well, I asked this question here hoping that either somebody came up with a very good idea I had overseen (Like taking Leap on a Ag4 Beastman for instance) or I got some good reasons for making a certain choice. I haven't heard either of these yet, but the huge support the MA increase gets does make me doubt my own ideas.

4 MV 8 players is already a lot and so far I have not yet needed more movement. I guess the +1 MA, Sprint, Sure Feet/Dodge routine is a nice idea, but not for 1 Turn TD's (just too unlikely to base this choice upon).

Still got time to think, luckily, so...

I took guard on two of my catchers

they are amazing at getting into tight spaces and tying up all tackle zones, having come from playing a dwarf team to this, i missed guard and am happy to take up where i left off to a lesser extent. it freaked my first post-selection opponent out completely. he was hving to watch his ass al over the field.

the MA would be a god thing too
