Ogre +1ST?

Post by Underdog »

Just played my second game with my Ogre Team (Vault rules in a Vault league) and rolled a double 6 for an Ogre. Its his first skill.

Im tending towards Block since I just played dwarfs and he must hyave knocked at least one ogre down per turn on 2D my choice blocks but Im also very keen on Pro and the +1 ST is always so hard to turn down...

I voted before I read it was an ogre team.
But as it is it wouldn't matter. He needs surehands.

Take the ST (even on a Ogre team). 3D blocks with one assist on S3 means less of a need for Block.

Any other double 1st one Surehands, then a toss-up between Block and Pro (probably go Pro personally).

There was meant to be an option for sure hands but I forgot to clcik submit and Im not sure how to edit it now...

Anyway just so everyone is clear this is a Vault Ogre team i.e. 0-6 Ogre 0-16 Snotlings. This may affect some peoples opinions.

Note that with snotlings is quite easy to get assists becuase they can dodge anywhere on a 2+ so getting the 3D Blocks is easier than it was with Goblins I find.

On anything but an Ogre team I don't really see any other option adding more value. Ogres are really big punch bags to take damage away from the rest of your team and annoy the crap of out opponent. S6 makes them so much better at tying people up (since an extra player has to be used to get an assist).

On a PBBL Ogre team I think its more debatable. You've got lots of strength, so having one S6 doesn't make as much of a difference. Having one with Block or Sure Hands would probably help more. Also the difference in contribution to TV makes a difference to the decision too. That 20k jump doesn't sound like a lot, but every little bit helps.

So I'd probably take Sure Hands (immunity to Strip Ball and a much better chance of getting the ball).

D'oh!

Completly missed the part about it being a Vault team.

Remove my vote from the +1ST list, and plae it in the official "I don't have an opinion as I don't play Vault" category.

Sorry guys, Ive had to repost this to make it a bit clearer that its an Ogre Team and because it was missing the Sure Hands option. Please re post your votes on the other thread. No need to re-post your comments - unless you want to  .

Thanks again.

I'll lock this one seeing as you've re-started the poll.
