Long term team... High Elfs, Pro Elfs, Amazons... or Khemri

Post by Cephme »

I am playing a league where our teams will be spanning multiple tounaments and season. Last season I played khemri, but found by the end of the season I was getting fireballed every game.... very frustrating. As such for our pre season warm up tourney I am considering either playing High Elfs, Pro elfs, or starting a second khemri team (so I have a higher FF for the kick off table... which bit me a few times last season). The preseason tourney will allow us to play 4 games to get some movement toward catching the teams who played 8 games last season. Of the following teams which one would you play in this situation and why:

High Elf
Pro Elf
Amazon
Khemri

Pro Elf and Amazons are not so good in the long run. First they have hard to take downplayer but in the end everyone will have a tackler against and the AV is too low for a long run team IMO. I think your oponents will fireball you again in the next season so you will make the same experiance again.

Last but not least I will talk about th High elfs. I think this team is made fo the long run. So I would try this team.

I would start with 2 dragon warrior and the rest lineman then you will have FF7 and 2 rerolls. This should be enough for the first games but you will nned more RRs.

Thanks guys I will give it a whirl on Fumbbl. Haven't played them in a while. I would kind of consider DE as well, but I really like the catchers on elf/pro elf teams even though they are av 7, and do not like witch elfs (frenzy str 3 and AV 7 is not good). Also have slightly considered Chaos Dwarfs, but I do not have figs for them and will not have time to paint them before the season. Never mind I am none to sure they are the team for me.

PS Migi that fig is really cool what is it. Would make a great "Princess Morania" for my shadow forge elves... they are even painted with blue skin like that. :P Thanks again.

I don't know if you are talking longevity, I would have to go with khemri. Everyone with regen and the mummies have enough AV to make it worth while in the long leagues. Mummies developed right will draw massive amounts of players to them just to get those one dice or two dice their choice blocks. While they are V E R Y slow, they can be very fun as long as you don't mind stalling and or the occasional tie or last second loss to some one turn elveses. Dirty Elvesses.

As for Pro Elves, I am going to be trying these out in my local league, because i figured I could do a bit better with them then high elves. I'm still swaying back and forth on the team I want to play. I have no real desire to play Wood Elves, but pro and high appeal to me for some strange reason.

I think in long term your AV7 players will often get beaten. So for long term most coaches tacke player with AV8 or bigger. I just started playing Khemri in an open league. It is very difficult to find opponents and they develop very slow. And the regenration is a 50% chance to get your player back. I think this isn't so good.

Yes but it's a 50% chance on EVERY player on khemri. Using any other team besides necro, your only getting one chance per game to get a man back using apothacary. True the AV7 skellies and thro-ra are a nuisance, but if you are using them correctly they should be assisting mummies and doing other menial tasks.

perhaps the best long term Blood Bowl team in local leagues are Dark Elfs.

But in big hard leagues armor and cheep players and good players get more and more important
