An Orc Skill-set for Dwarven Madam

Post by Leipziger »

A very similar post to my necro one really. My sister is bringing Orcs to Waterbowl Weekender and is looking to avoid collecting her wooden spoon hattrick. She has not played for quite a while, so is looking for inspiration. As an orc novice myself, I am a bit short on ideas. Before the tourney, you have to choose one set of skills to last your team for the whole tournament. The choices are:

a) 4 x skill, 2 x trait
b) 3 x skill, 1 x trait, 1 x MV+1
c) 5 x skill, 1 x AG +1
d) 4 x skill, 1 x ST +1

Not exactly sure of her line-up, but there won't be a troll and she will probably have a goblin in there somewhere.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Cheers

Leip  :o

The 5xskill, 1xAG looks like my choice.

An AG 4 blitzer, some guard and a sure hand blitzer would fit me good, and scrap throwers.

i agree: and the skills should be(2xtackle/ 1x tackle + 1x strip bal)+ Ag + guard on blitzer, guard on black orc, acurate on thrower

that is how i would do it (offcourse this does not mean itis the best idea for ewery lineup) - my line ups usualy have 4 Blitz, 3/4 BOB, THR, 1/2 gob, 1/2 L , 3RR 1/2 FF

I'm nearly agreed, except that I am taking (for Orcs as well) 2x Trait and 4x Skill.

I don't see the added benefit of AG4 with Orcs compared to Stand Firm for example. All you need AG for with a 'regular' Orc team is picking up the ball and possibly making a blitz on the ballcarrier.

You should be able to protect the moment when you are picking up the ball to get away with a mere AG3 (and Sure Hands, which you need anyway against Strip Ball Wardancers), and with RR AG3 is better than AG4 without.

For blitzing and threatening on defense I also happen to think Stand Firm is better than AG4, as you can not only dodge with impunity (pretty good shot to make it at a 3+) and you can block people if you fail to knock em over.

Fill up the rest with Guard obviously.
